Lazy Sunday Make Up Look

Hello beautiful people & happy Sunday!
I don’t know about you guys, but I love Sundays. You can be cozy and stay in all day, or you can run errands, or have brunch with friends – Sundays are just the best for so many lovely and relaxing things; including a lazy make up look.

This is a look I usually do on Sunday’s if I’m going to be leaving the house, and just want to highlight some of my natural features without all the contouring and winged liner (which I absolutely love, don’t get me wrong), but sometimes it’s just nice to have a “less is more” kind of day!

DSCN2588

This look is super fresh and pretty, but also super fast if maybe you slept in for a little too long, or you’re a mom on the go – or if you’re like me and just want to have a little something going on to run errands and do laundry!

DSCN2582
DSCN2572
For my complexion I used:
Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation in the shade 0.5 – to even out my skin tone
Urban Decay Naked skin concealer in the shade fair/neutral – for blemishes and under my eyes
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow – I only used the bronzer from this duo to add a little colour to my face
MAC blush in the shade Warm soul – To add a little flush and shimmer to my cheeks
Laura Mercier loose setting powder – To make sure there’s no shine where I don’t want it

DSCN2573
For my eyes I kept it super simple and only used a few products:
L’oreal brow style definer in the shade brunette – To add some definition to my brows and fill in any sparse areas
MAC Teddy eye kohl – Just smudged along the upper lash line to add the illusion of volume
Covergirl Full lash bloom mascara Clinique bottom lash mascara – To make my lashes look as fab as possible
Rimmel Scandaleyes kohl kajal in 005 nude – I used this on the water line to make my eyes look bigger and more awake

DSCN2576
Finally for the lips I used Tanya Burr’s lipgloss in the shade Chic to add a nice natural juiciness to my lips!

DSCN2583
I absolutely love the way this look turned out, and really you could wear this any day of the week because it really emphasizes your natural beauty – but I particularly like it for my lazy and lovely Sunday’s!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!
Until next time my loves,
xoxo

Fun and Flirty Valentine’s Day Make Up Look!

Hello beautiful people!

Valentine’s Day is this weekend, and wether you’re celebrating with your sweetie, spending the night with your girlfriends or going on a first day, I have a look that will make you feel fabulous and wow whoever you’re with!

DSCN2557

I wanted to create a look that was playful and flirty without being too glam, because then it can really suit any outing!
I went for a more natural eye look with some glitter and winged liner to add that flirty feel, with some really natural wispy lashes to play it up just a little bit more. I wanted my skin to be glowing and flushed, with a nice rosy matte lip which is transfer proof if you’re going to be doing any smooching this v-day!

DSCN2564DSCN2544

For my complexion I used:
Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in the shade 010 porcelain
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly for my blemishes
Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer in Fair Neutral for under my eyes
Laura Mercier loose setting powder in translucent to set everything in place
Burberry Earthy Blush in No.7 to contour
Hourglass Ambient Bronzer in Bronze Light to bronze up my face
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in fetching to add a really pretty flush to my cheeks
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone to add that glow I was going for on the high points of my face

DSCN2554DSCN2548

For my eyes I used:
L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer in Brunette to fill in my brows
Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette for shadows – I used baby all over the lid, with anaheim and punk through the crease and lower lash line, then I pressed a bit of pop glitter all over the lid to add some sparkle
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper for my wings
CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom mascara for my top lashes
Clinique bottom lash mascara for the bottom lashes
I used some of the Tanya Burr Limited Edition false lashes that came in her advent calendar and unfortunately don’t have a name

DSCN2549

Finally for lips I used the new Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip colour in the shade devotion which is a gorgeous dusty rose that just added the perfect pop of pink for this look!

DSCN2561

I’m so happy with how this look turned out, and I’ll definitely be re-creating this on Sunday for whatever Carmen and I decide to do!

Let me know what you’re planning to do this v-day!
Until next time my loves,
xoxo

August 2015 Favourites!

Hello beautiful people!
Happy Sunday! Let me know what you’ve been up to this weekend, I went to a small party on Friday and then spent the rest of weekend pretty much just lounging. On Saturday, Carmen and I went to see American Ultra, the new Kristin Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg movie. It was actually really funny, and had a lot of good action scenes, I feel like it’s the kind of movie that pretty much anyone could watch and partly enjoy.

August is coming to a close, and we’re moving in to September! Good luck to anyone going back to school in a couple of weeks!
I know that I should still be in summer mode, but I’m incredibly excited for fall. I can’t wait for the fashion, and the leaves changing colour, and all the yummy food & drinks, and let’s be real, the closer we are to fall, the closer we are to Christmas!

My first favourite is one of the new Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks, from the nude line that just recently came out. I bought 2 of these, but number 42 is the absolute perfect nude, and really, how cute is this packaging?
DSCN2009 DSCN2012 DSCN2013

It’s the perfect balance of pink and beige, and it suits my skin tone so well. It’s only slightly paler than my natural lip colour, which I really like, especially as make up looks are transitioning into slightly smokier and darker looks for fall.
This lasts a good few hours without needing to be re-applied, it doesn’t have a completely matte of glossy finish, it just looks pretty and healthy on the lips. Of course it has the typical Kate Moss scent, sort of sweet and fruity, and these are really affordable, I think I found this on sale for $7.99!

Next up is a Burberry product from the Sephora VIB Rouge exclusive kit. Burberry just became available on Sephora.ca, so they brought out a small kit that I thought I’d try out, because I’ve never used burberry products before. This is just a sample size, but the full size is $44.
DSCN2019DSCN2022
This is called the Earthy Blush in no. 7 Light Glow, but it says it’s a contouring powder for face and eyes. I’ve been using this primarily to sculpt my cheekbones, but I think it would look great as a crease colour as well. This is a great muddy shade with slightly grey undertones, which are perfect for contouring the face. It’s completely matte, and has the most incredible formulation. It’s is super velvety and blendable, not to mention highly pigmented, so a tiny bit goes a long way. This powder is actually scented, which to be honest makes it feel a little bit more luxurious, it smells sort of sweet and a little bit floral as well. Burberry packaging is also just so sophisticated and lovely, if you’ve tried anything else from them, please leave some recommendations in the comments!

Monica actually bought me this next favourite for my birthday! The CND Vinylux nail polish in the colour Naked Naivete ($12).
DSCN2027
This is the prettiest pink colour for fingers and toes, I love shades like this because they’re so sexy and classy. These polishes have incredible wear time! I work with my hands, and this lasted a week without a single chip! the formulation is really opaque, and doesn’t go on streaky or anything like that. I will definitely be picking up a few more shades!

Next up is a mask I’ve heard great things about, The new Origins Original Skin retexturing mask ($30)
(This is just a sample size, but I’ll definitely be purchasing the full size)
DSCN2024
I’ve really been loving this, it’s supposed to deep clean the skin, while refining it’s texture and keeping it radiant. I’ve used this about 4 times and I absolutely noticed a difference in my skin. It definitely deep cleans, because once this dries down, it actually has little pieces of jojoba beads to exfoliate the skin as you wash it off, so it leaves your skin feeling super duper clean. After you wash it off, your face does look more glowing and healthy, because this tingles slightly which increases blood flow to the face. As for the texture of my skin, it did feel softer with the help of the exfoliation, but it took 2 or 3 uses for me to notice the more congested and uneven areas of my skin start to disappear. I use this twice a week, but if you have dry skin I would suggest only using it once. I would definitely recommend giving this a shot, you can get this deluxe sample with a Sephora code, which I think is Maskmini.

Last is the Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick in the shade A-go-go ($24)
DSCN2030DSCN2032
This was definitely a purchase that was slightly out of my comfort zone, but when I tried this on in Sephora, I fell absolutely in love. This a very bright orange-red shade that looks gorgeous with pale skin and a simple eye look. Even though I felt slightly self-conscious the first time I wore this out, I got so many compliments that I want to wear it all the time. It’s a great bold alternative to the classic red or berry shade that I’m used to wearing, not to mention that this formulation literally lasts all night long. I wore this out on Friday night, from 9pm to around 2am and it didn’t budge, I was eating and everything. This stuff dries down like concrete on your lips, but it’s incredibly easy to remove, just a bit of cleansing water on a cotton pad and you’re in business. I’ll definitely be picking up some more of these babies!

That’s it for now my loves!
Until next time,
xoxo

An Afternoon At The Races – FOTD & outfit

Hello beautiful people!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, let me know in the comments what you got up to!

Yesterday my family and I went to the local race track to bet on the horses for my dad’s birthday! This is the second year in a row we’ve done it, and it’s so much fun! We eat a lovely buffet lunch, dress up and wear fancy hats and scream like maniacs at the horses we want to win.
Since it’s an occasion to get a little glam, I thought I’d share what kind of make up look I went for, and what I wore with you guys!

Becca with Jaclyn Hill shimmering skin perfector in Champagne pop to highlight my cheekbone

Urban Decay de-slick oil control setting spray

DSCN1966
I’m super happy with how this look turned out! Still glam, but not too much for day-time!

I didn’t manage to take a picture of my full outfit, but I wore this beautiful dress from Anthropologie I picked up a few months ago, and these cute little sandals I bought at a DSW in Cleveland a few years back!

February Favourites!

Hello beautiful people!
Hopefully you all had fantastic weekends! I actually bought my first car yesterday! I’m very excited to be adding a little bit more responsibility to my life, and to have a car of my own of course.
Since its March first (already!) I figured it was time for my February favourites post.

My first favourite is a fragrance that I picked up at Anthropologie towards the end of January, and I absolutely love it! It’s the Royal Apothic fragrance in Kensington Gardens ($36); for all my British followers – each scent is named after a famous place in London! Normally I don’t stray from my Marc Jacob’s scents, but this one just had to come home with me. It smells very fresh and floral with slight hints of sweetness but it’s also a bit spicy, which is why I liked it so much, and the price is much better than a Marc perfume. I also LOVE the packaging of this perfume, the little squeeze puff makes it feel very vintage and feminine, and the bottle has a map of Kensington Garden with a picture of the Queen on the back. If you have Anthropologie near you I would suggest checking these fragrances out, or you could look on the Royal Apothic website!
DSCN1550

Next is the L’Oreal Infallible eye shadow in the shade Amber Rush, this pressed pigment is so beautiful! It feels soft like butter and blends over the lid without any skipping, one or two swipes of your brush or finger into the pot will do your whole lid without fail. It has incredible pigmentation and is super shimmery which I think is beautiful for spring, or a night out with something darker blended through the crease. This shadow lasted over 12 hours on my lids yesterday without a single crease, so for the $8.00 I paid, I would say this product was well worth the money! I will definitely be picking up a few more shades!
DSCN1545DSCN1546DSCN1547

Staying with the L’Oreal Infallible line, the new 16hr matte powder is so good, it may take the place of Rimmel stay matte in my Holy Grail category! I know, that’s a big claim, but this powder is actually that good! It’s very finely milled which makes it feel super lightweight and invisible on the skin, but the formula really stays in place without feeling cakey. I’m not sure this lasts 16 hours if you have combo/oily skin like I do, but this definitely lasts a good 8 without any signs of shine. I do find after that point I need to touch up through my t-zone, but other than that this powder is fab.

DSCN1543DSCN1544

You guys know how much I love Origins, so when they came out with the new Original Skin Renewal Serum ($48), I had to give it a try. I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older my skin has definitely changed, I find I have a lot more congestion and difficulty with skin texture, so when I read about this serum I thought it could do wonders for my skin – and it has! This is created with willowherb and Persian silk tree to help rejuvenate the skin, allowing its natural radiance to come through, which improves tone, texture and shrinks the look of pores. I’ve been using this around 4 weeks and I’ve really noticed a difference in the appearance of my skin! I like this serum a lot because it’s actually more a gel formulation than the classic liquid serum, so one pump is all you need for your face and neck, and your skin automatically feels softer and smoother. If you’re looking for something to add a healthy glow to your complexion I would suggest giving this a try!
DSCN1542

I know I’m definitely not the only one whose been loving the new Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation ($7.99). I picked this up around the beginning of February because I was so excited that it had finally come to Canada, and I was not disappointed. This foundation has great coverage without being too matte, it still allows some radiance to come through which is something I personally love in a foundation! I definitely don’t think it lasts 25 hours, but it’ll definitely last for the day, or for a night out! It photographs well, it blends nicely onto the skin without sitting in your pores, and it hardly oxidizes so the colour stays true to the bottle. I’ve been reaching for this all month, so if you can get your hands on this I would definitely recommend it!
DSCN1539

My last favourite is a bit of an introduction into my next post, it’s the Saje Natural Wellness headache remedy called Peppermint Halo. (I’m going to be doing a full review/informative post on Saje for later this week so come back for that one!) Basically this is a rollerball of essential oils that help to relieve headaches in a natural way, it has peppermint oil, lavender oil, rosemary, and eucalyptus oil to help with tension headaches. You apply this to your temples and the scent will help your headache to go away, you can also apply this to the back of your neck and it will help with any neck or shoulder pain you’re having. I was always the kind of person who would just pop an ibuprofen when I had a headache or shoulder pain, but after seeing how effective a natural remedy can be, I don’t think I’ll be so keen to reach for that little plastic bottle anymore.
DSCN1536DSCN1537

Those are my February favourites!
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these/what kind of posts you’d like to see in March!
Until next time,
xoxo

October Favourites!

Hello Beautiful people!
I hope you all had an exceptional weekend and a safe and fun Halloween!
My sister threw a Halloween party so Carmen and I went dressed up as Sully and Boo from monsters INC, we had a lot of fun and I’m still trying to finish off the left over candy! What did you guys dress up as?
8960_10152846831552490_710201715887802549_n

I don’t know about you guys but when the weather gets chillier I have a tendency to switch up some of my products that are a little more full coverage and matte as opposed to the dewy and sheer finishes that are so beautiful in the warmer months.
I think it’s because the colder months are full of comfort food, sweet treats and lots of apple cider and hot chocolate which is not great for your skin! And of course the holidays are a great time to play with your make up looks and wear a little bit more than you normally would!
My first favourite is the boi-ing concealer from Benefit in the shade 01 ($26), I was loving this in October for blemishes and under the eyes. It has a very creamy and bendable consistency but it is quite thick and very full coverage which I felt like I needed after traveling and all the sweets I’ve been eating. This product layers beautifully over all my foundations and is a perfect match for my skin tone, it does crease a little bit under the eyes but that doesn’t bother me too much because most concealers crease on me.
DSCN0777DSCN0778

Next is the Rimmel scandaleyes waterproof kohl kajal eye liner in the shade 005 nude ($7.99). I’ve really been loving using this on the water line, especially when I’m going for a really bold lip and a neutral eye because I find it just brightens and opens up my eyes so nicely. This is a great tip just for everyday because it makes your eyes look so much bigger!
DSCN0769DSCN0770

Too faced better than sex mascara ($30) has not left my make-up bag since I bought the full size at the beginning of the month. This mascara coats my lashes beautifully in product and is buildable to get a really sexy and full volume lash look. It flakes a little bit after wearing it for a few hours but again, the way my lashes look with this mascara on, it doesn’t bother me to wipe a few flakes out from under my eyes. This mascara is expensive but the results are amazing! And Sephora has a lot of great gift sets that include the full size as well as some deluxe samples at the moment, so if you’ve been itching to try this I would HIGHLY recommend it.
DSCN0773DSCN0775

Before I left for Texas I got my eyebrows tinted a pretty dark brown colour, mostly because I didn’t want to have to fill them in everyday and because bold brows are very in right now. When I get home and the tint had faded a little bit I needed something darker to fill them in, so I found the Benefit cosmetics brow-zings palette in my collection and I am obsessed. I have the shade light ($38) the kit comes with a powder and a tinted wax, 2 brushes and a little pair of tweezers. I love the powder because it’s a great colour, it’s a taupe with a little bit of an ashy quality, once I’ve filled them in with the powder I use the little angled brush and apply the wax over top to darken them and help them stay in place. My brows have never looked so good! I think I’ll be using this a lot through the colder months because I’m loving how they look when they’re a little darker.
DSCN0766DSCN0760

Bite beauty cashmere lip cream in Bordeaux ($32) has been my go-to bold lip all month. It’s a beautiful burgundy shade with intense pigmentation. It’s got a good creamy consistency so it doesn’t dry out your lips, it’s not a super glossy formulation but it’s not completely matte either. The bottle comes with a doe-foot applicator, but you could apply it with a brush for a less intense dose of colour or go right on with the applicator for full on pigmentation. I think it’s going to stay in my make-up bag for holiday parties and dinners because this stuff has great staying power, obviously if you’re eating you’re going to need to re-apply but all in all it doesn’t slide around too much – I’d use a straw for your drinks though.
IMG_2165DSCN0779DSCN0781

Those are some of the products I was loving in October, let me know what some of yours were!
And keep your eyes peeled for my next post which is going to be my everyday fall/winter make-up look!
Don’t forget to hit all the good buttons!
until next time my loves,
xoxo
