March 2016 Favourites!

Hello beautiful people!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend and no one has pranked you too hard today!

It’s time for another monthly favourites post! I haven’t written one of these in ages, so I have quite a few beauty/skincare/random favourites to share.

I’ll start with skincare as I’ve really been having quite a difficult time with my skin this winter. I don’t know if it’s because of the weather, or that I’m getting older or what but it’s really been getting me down! I’ve had a lot of annoying breakouts, some random redness and lots of little dry patches, which makes all my foundations look awful on my skin. Finally in the passed couple of months I’ve found a few products that seem to helping the situation!

The Clinique take the day off cleansing balm ($36CAD) is what I’ve been using as step one in my skin care routine lately, and I’ve really been loving it (as you can see by the crater I’ve dug out of the middle). It’s the consistency of wax, but when you rub it in your palms, it kind of warms up and melts to turn into this really nourishing oil that melts away all your make up!
I like to massage this onto my skin for about a minute to make sure I’m really getting all that make up off, and then I’ll wet my hands and it kind of emulsifies into this lovely milk, which then cleanses the skin without stripping it at all. I love my micellar waters, but can find them to be a bit drying, so this has been working wonders for me as it doesn’t dry out my skin at all! a little goes a long way as well, so this tub should last me another 3 months or so!

Another skin care saviour I’ve been loving is the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant ($74CAD). This is quite pricey, but may very well be the nicest thing in my skin care collection. As you can see from the photo (which looks slightly like drugs) it comes in a powder form, which you then add water too and create this lovely and gentle exfoliant that you can use every day. I’ve been using this at night after my cleansing balm to help get rid of any debris, dry skin or extra make up, and let me tell you my skin feels incredible! This is formulated with rice protein which helps to get rid of dead skin and promote cell turn over for a more radiant and smooth complexion!
This is also a bit of a 3-in-1 product, the girl at the store told me you can add a lot of water for a more gentle exfoliant to brighten the skin and gently cleanse, or you can use a little bit of water for a rougher more physical exfoliant 3 times a week, or you can add a little bit of water and leave it on as a 5 minute mini mask! If you ask me, I think for that many options it’s well worth the price.

Last but not least in my skin care favourites is the Kiehl’s Hydro-plumping re-texturizing skin serum concentrate ($60CAD). This serum literally feels like you’re rubbing water into your skin, it’s so light but so hydrating at the same time. Usually things that hydrate feel really thick and sticky on the skin, but this just sinks right in and gives my skin the drink of water it’s really been needing, and I’ve definitely noticed less dry spots on my face. This stuff is also meant to plump the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but I’ve only been using it about 2 weeks so I’ll have to see about that!

On to make up favourites!

This is a fairly new purchase for me, but I absolutely love it. The By Terry touch expert advanced ultra-radiance active concealer ($59CAD) in the shade 1 is the absolute perfect concealer for getting rid of dark circles. This is very expensive, but Toronto just got Saks Fifth Ave, and they had a By Terry counter and I just couldn’t resist (sorry not sorry). I got this kind of bisque shade because I wanted a little extra something to cover up my dark circles, and this literally makes them disappear – if I’m being honest, my under eye circles are not that bad, but this stuff just makes them non-existent and makes me feel super awake and fresh! It has similar packaging to the YSL Touche Eclat pen with the little pump on the bottom that forces the product up and into the brush, which I think is really classy and lovely. The product itself smells really fresh and clean, and blends into the skin like a dream! A little goes a long way with this stuff as well so you can get your moneys worth!

I wasn’t a huge fan of the first Tartelette palette, but when I saw the new Tartelette In Bloom palette ($54CAD) I absolutely had to have it! The shades in this are a mix of shimmer, glitter and mattes, with nice warm neutral shades. I was really feeling the matte shades in this palette throughout March, I’m not usually one to wear an all matte look, but the formulation of these shadows just blends like butter so they look really soft and lovely on the lid. If you’re looking for a new palette I would definitely suggest giving this baby try!

Last but not least is the Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick in the shade Bow n Arrow ($24CAD). I wore this non-stop in March, it’s just the perfect bold lip to transition into spring without being too red or berry toned. It dries down to this beautiful ashy, burnt rose colour which I absolutely adore! It lasts all day long, through eating and drinking, and it doesn’t dry out your lips at all! If you haven’t given her liquid lipsticks a try I would highly recommend any of the shades because the formula is spot on!

My final March favourite is actually a TV show that I literally binge watched through February and March because I just couldn’t get enough! Parks and Rec is probably one of the funniest TV shows I’ve watched in a long time, it stars Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari and a bunch of other amazing actors/actresses who just work so well together. It’s about a group of people who work in the Parks Department in this tiny town in Indiana and it just catalogues their day to day activities, which sounds boring but is actually amazing! If you watched the office, or are a fan of any of the actors I mentioned I think you could get into Parks and Rec!

That’s it for now my loves!
Until next time,
xoxo

September 2015 Favourites!

Hello beautiful people!
Apologies for being MIA the passed couple of weeks, I was away at the cottage and then I caught a nasty cold. Alas! I am back and so excited to be writing my September favourites post for you guys!
The leaves have started changing here in Toronto, and it’s gotten a little bit chillier which makes everything so cozy and lovely! I love autumn! Let me know in the comments what some of your favourite things about fall are!

DSCN2085
First up is actually a re-discovered favourite! The GlamGlow Youthmud mask is not one I used to reach for very often, I found I prefer to use detoxifying masks or hydrating ones, but lately I’ve noticed my other masks just weren’t doing the trick for me. My skin has been feeling a little bit rough and uneven, my foundation even started bunching in weird placed on my face, so I thought I’d give this baby a try for some intense exfoliation. (This is a small sample size)
This masks tingles ALOT, to the point where it’s actually slightly uncomfortable, but the effects are incredible! After one use my skin was softer and radiant! I noticed a bit of purging a few days later, which was great because my detoxifying masks weren’t helping me out with any of my congestion. After using this my moisturizers and treatments absorbed faster, and my foundation applied seamlessly! I think I’ll be using this at least once a month from now on!

DSCN2082
Essie’s fall line of nail polishes knocked it out of the park this year! I picked these 2 up at the beginning of September and have been wearing them non-stop!
The one on the left is called “frock n’ roll”, which is a really beautiful dark purple with silver micro-glitter in it. This applies incredibly opaque, it looks almost black until you see it in certain lights and the glitter comes into play. It’s incredibly easy to take off, considering it has glitter in it as well! Wearing this one makes me feel super vampy and sophisticated!
The polish on the right is called “leggy legend”, it’s a really gorgeous copper/bronze shade that looks like a sunset on your nails. When the shimmer in this catches the light it’s absolutely stunning! it’s not a colour I would normally go for, but when I wore it I feel in love, because it makes me feel edgy!

DSCN2088DSCN2089
Revlon Black Cherry is the perfect berry lip for fall, it’s a gorgeous merlot shade that makes my lips look fuller and sexy without being too matte or too glossy. I’ve been wearing this a lot recently, and I just love it, obviously I have to re-apply after eating but other wise the longevity of this is really great. Since the formula isn’t matte, it doesn’t dry my lips out at all, which makes it comfortable to wear all day. If you’re looking for a new vampy lip colour I would highly suggest picking this classic up!

DSCN2080
My last favourite is a book I could not put down in September! The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard is the best book I’ve read in quite a while. I’m garbage at describing things without completely ruining the whole book, so I’m going to copy the insert from the book.
“Mare Barrow’s world is divided by blood – those with red and those with silver. Mare and her family are lowly Reds, destined to serve the Silver elite whose supernatural abilities make them nearly gods. Mare steals what she can to help her family survive, but when her best from is conscripted into the army she gambles everything to win his freedom. A twist of fate leads her to the royal palace itself, where, in front of the king and all his nobles, she discovered a power of her own – an ability she didn’t know she had. Except… her blood is Red.
To hide this impossibility, the king forces her into the role of a lost Silver princess and betroths her to one of his sons. As Mare is drawn further into the Silver world, she risks her new position to aid the Scarlet Guard – the leaders of a Red rebellion. Her actions put into motion a deadly violent dance, pitting prince against prince and Mare against her own heart”
If you enjoy fantasy novels, with magic and mystery I would definitely suggest giving this a go! The second book in the series comes out in February and I cannot wait!

That’s it for this post! I’ll be back very soon with a fall make up look for you guys!
Until next time my loves,
xoxo

August 2015 Favourites!

Hello beautiful people!
Happy Sunday! Let me know what you’ve been up to this weekend, I went to a small party on Friday and then spent the rest of weekend pretty much just lounging. On Saturday, Carmen and I went to see American Ultra, the new Kristin Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg movie. It was actually really funny, and had a lot of good action scenes, I feel like it’s the kind of movie that pretty much anyone could watch and partly enjoy.

August is coming to a close, and we’re moving in to September! Good luck to anyone going back to school in a couple of weeks!
I know that I should still be in summer mode, but I’m incredibly excited for fall. I can’t wait for the fashion, and the leaves changing colour, and all the yummy food & drinks, and let’s be real, the closer we are to fall, the closer we are to Christmas!

My first favourite is one of the new Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks, from the nude line that just recently came out. I bought 2 of these, but number 42 is the absolute perfect nude, and really, how cute is this packaging?
DSCN2009 DSCN2012 DSCN2013

It’s the perfect balance of pink and beige, and it suits my skin tone so well. It’s only slightly paler than my natural lip colour, which I really like, especially as make up looks are transitioning into slightly smokier and darker looks for fall.
This lasts a good few hours without needing to be re-applied, it doesn’t have a completely matte of glossy finish, it just looks pretty and healthy on the lips. Of course it has the typical Kate Moss scent, sort of sweet and fruity, and these are really affordable, I think I found this on sale for $7.99!

Next up is a Burberry product from the Sephora VIB Rouge exclusive kit. Burberry just became available on Sephora.ca, so they brought out a small kit that I thought I’d try out, because I’ve never used burberry products before. This is just a sample size, but the full size is $44.
DSCN2019DSCN2022
This is called the Earthy Blush in no. 7 Light Glow, but it says it’s a contouring powder for face and eyes. I’ve been using this primarily to sculpt my cheekbones, but I think it would look great as a crease colour as well. This is a great muddy shade with slightly grey undertones, which are perfect for contouring the face. It’s completely matte, and has the most incredible formulation. It’s is super velvety and blendable, not to mention highly pigmented, so a tiny bit goes a long way. This powder is actually scented, which to be honest makes it feel a little bit more luxurious, it smells sort of sweet and a little bit floral as well. Burberry packaging is also just so sophisticated and lovely, if you’ve tried anything else from them, please leave some recommendations in the comments!

Monica actually bought me this next favourite for my birthday! The CND Vinylux nail polish in the colour Naked Naivete ($12).
DSCN2027
This is the prettiest pink colour for fingers and toes, I love shades like this because they’re so sexy and classy. These polishes have incredible wear time! I work with my hands, and this lasted a week without a single chip! the formulation is really opaque, and doesn’t go on streaky or anything like that. I will definitely be picking up a few more shades!

Next up is a mask I’ve heard great things about, The new Origins Original Skin retexturing mask ($30)
(This is just a sample size, but I’ll definitely be purchasing the full size)
DSCN2024
I’ve really been loving this, it’s supposed to deep clean the skin, while refining it’s texture and keeping it radiant. I’ve used this about 4 times and I absolutely noticed a difference in my skin. It definitely deep cleans, because once this dries down, it actually has little pieces of jojoba beads to exfoliate the skin as you wash it off, so it leaves your skin feeling super duper clean. After you wash it off, your face does look more glowing and healthy, because this tingles slightly which increases blood flow to the face. As for the texture of my skin, it did feel softer with the help of the exfoliation, but it took 2 or 3 uses for me to notice the more congested and uneven areas of my skin start to disappear. I use this twice a week, but if you have dry skin I would suggest only using it once. I would definitely recommend giving this a shot, you can get this deluxe sample with a Sephora code, which I think is Maskmini.

Last is the Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick in the shade A-go-go ($24)
DSCN2030DSCN2032
This was definitely a purchase that was slightly out of my comfort zone, but when I tried this on in Sephora, I fell absolutely in love. This a very bright orange-red shade that looks gorgeous with pale skin and a simple eye look. Even though I felt slightly self-conscious the first time I wore this out, I got so many compliments that I want to wear it all the time. It’s a great bold alternative to the classic red or berry shade that I’m used to wearing, not to mention that this formulation literally lasts all night long. I wore this out on Friday night, from 9pm to around 2am and it didn’t budge, I was eating and everything. This stuff dries down like concrete on your lips, but it’s incredibly easy to remove, just a bit of cleansing water on a cotton pad and you’re in business. I’ll definitely be picking up some more of these babies!

That’s it for now my loves!
Until next time,
xoxo

May Favourites!

Hello beautiful people!
I hope you’re all as happy as I am that it’s finally June- and it’s finally starting to feel like summer! With that being said, it’s time for monthly favourites! This month there are a couple of TV shows added into the mix so make sure you read to the end!

I’ve seen a lot of people raving about the Maybelline Instant age rewind concealer, so I figured I had to give it a try. I picked it up in the shade fair, and it’s actually a perfect match for me! This concealer is so worth the hype, it’s creamy and brightening, and doesn’t crease at all. It has a very light weight consistency, and it blends out under the eye so smoothly – I don’t have particularly bad dark circles, so I can’t really confirm if it covers them, but it does have a nice coverage. My one beef with this product is the applicator, I don’t like that you have to twist the product out into the sponge tip, I feel like it’s definitely wasting the concealer. Aside from that, I would put this up there with some of my favourite high end concealers, and this is a fraction of the price!
DSCN1768

Springsheen from MAC is the most incredible blush for spring, I definitely feel like I’ve put this in a favourites before, but I just love to wear this when the weather is warmer. It’s a gorgeous coral-pink shade with gold shimmer that adds the most incredible glow to your skin, so you don’t even need to use a highlighter with this blush! It really warms up my pale skin, but I feel like it would look gorgeous on any skin-tone.
DSCN1769DSCN1772

The EOS lip balms are another favourite in the beauty community, and I’ve had a few in the past, but I had a few other balms to work through and just recently re-purchased this one in the summer fruit scent! I like to use it before bed so when I wake up my lips are so soft and moisturized. Honestly, as far as lip balms go, I really like these ones, especially because you get quite a lot of product in one little ball.
DSCN1764

The last beauty favourite is one of the shadows from the MAC cool neutral palette; don’t get me wrong, the whole palette is absolutely divine, but this shadow just takes the cake for me. I’m pretty sure it’s called deception (but don’t quote me on that!) It’s in the second row, fourth from the right, and it’s the most beautiful, smoky taupe-mauve shade! It’s really similar to MAC Patina, but it has more of a purple under tone than a gold one. I’ve been wearing this on its own for weeks now; it can be worn for day time with a little lip gloss, or for evening with some winged liner and a bold lip! With a shade like this, the possibilities are endless.
(Let me know if you want a full review/swatches of this palette)
DSCN1762DSCN1763DSCN1774

Finally my last two favourites are TV shows I got very into throughout May. The first one is called Orphan Black, and it’s sort of hard to tell you what it’s about without giving everything away, but I can say it’s full of action, plot twists and some good love stories, and I would classify the genre as science fiction. I was also drawn to this show because it’s filmed mostly in Toronto, which is awesome because I can point out places I know while I watch this awesome show!
The second show is called Reign, this one is a period drama based in France while Mary Queen of Scots was living there. Again, this show is ACTION packed with some good love stories; if you like game of thrones and pretty little liars you’ll like this show, it’s a good mix of beautiful costumes and just the right amount of betrayal and drama.

Until next time my loves,
xoxo

February Favourites!

Hello beautiful people!
Hopefully you all had fantastic weekends! I actually bought my first car yesterday! I’m very excited to be adding a little bit more responsibility to my life, and to have a car of my own of course.
Since its March first (already!) I figured it was time for my February favourites post.

My first favourite is a fragrance that I picked up at Anthropologie towards the end of January, and I absolutely love it! It’s the Royal Apothic fragrance in Kensington Gardens ($36); for all my British followers – each scent is named after a famous place in London! Normally I don’t stray from my Marc Jacob’s scents, but this one just had to come home with me. It smells very fresh and floral with slight hints of sweetness but it’s also a bit spicy, which is why I liked it so much, and the price is much better than a Marc perfume. I also LOVE the packaging of this perfume, the little squeeze puff makes it feel very vintage and feminine, and the bottle has a map of Kensington Garden with a picture of the Queen on the back. If you have Anthropologie near you I would suggest checking these fragrances out, or you could look on the Royal Apothic website!
DSCN1550

Next is the L’Oreal Infallible eye shadow in the shade Amber Rush, this pressed pigment is so beautiful! It feels soft like butter and blends over the lid without any skipping, one or two swipes of your brush or finger into the pot will do your whole lid without fail. It has incredible pigmentation and is super shimmery which I think is beautiful for spring, or a night out with something darker blended through the crease. This shadow lasted over 12 hours on my lids yesterday without a single crease, so for the $8.00 I paid, I would say this product was well worth the money! I will definitely be picking up a few more shades!
DSCN1545DSCN1546DSCN1547

Staying with the L’Oreal Infallible line, the new 16hr matte powder is so good, it may take the place of Rimmel stay matte in my Holy Grail category! I know, that’s a big claim, but this powder is actually that good! It’s very finely milled which makes it feel super lightweight and invisible on the skin, but the formula really stays in place without feeling cakey. I’m not sure this lasts 16 hours if you have combo/oily skin like I do, but this definitely lasts a good 8 without any signs of shine. I do find after that point I need to touch up through my t-zone, but other than that this powder is fab.

DSCN1543DSCN1544

You guys know how much I love Origins, so when they came out with the new Original Skin Renewal Serum ($48), I had to give it a try. I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older my skin has definitely changed, I find I have a lot more congestion and difficulty with skin texture, so when I read about this serum I thought it could do wonders for my skin – and it has! This is created with willowherb and Persian silk tree to help rejuvenate the skin, allowing its natural radiance to come through, which improves tone, texture and shrinks the look of pores. I’ve been using this around 4 weeks and I’ve really noticed a difference in the appearance of my skin! I like this serum a lot because it’s actually more a gel formulation than the classic liquid serum, so one pump is all you need for your face and neck, and your skin automatically feels softer and smoother. If you’re looking for something to add a healthy glow to your complexion I would suggest giving this a try!
DSCN1542

I know I’m definitely not the only one whose been loving the new Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation ($7.99). I picked this up around the beginning of February because I was so excited that it had finally come to Canada, and I was not disappointed. This foundation has great coverage without being too matte, it still allows some radiance to come through which is something I personally love in a foundation! I definitely don’t think it lasts 25 hours, but it’ll definitely last for the day, or for a night out! It photographs well, it blends nicely onto the skin without sitting in your pores, and it hardly oxidizes so the colour stays true to the bottle. I’ve been reaching for this all month, so if you can get your hands on this I would definitely recommend it!
DSCN1539

My last favourite is a bit of an introduction into my next post, it’s the Saje Natural Wellness headache remedy called Peppermint Halo. (I’m going to be doing a full review/informative post on Saje for later this week so come back for that one!) Basically this is a rollerball of essential oils that help to relieve headaches in a natural way, it has peppermint oil, lavender oil, rosemary, and eucalyptus oil to help with tension headaches. You apply this to your temples and the scent will help your headache to go away, you can also apply this to the back of your neck and it will help with any neck or shoulder pain you’re having. I was always the kind of person who would just pop an ibuprofen when I had a headache or shoulder pain, but after seeing how effective a natural remedy can be, I don’t think I’ll be so keen to reach for that little plastic bottle anymore.
DSCN1536DSCN1537

Those are my February favourites!
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these/what kind of posts you’d like to see in March!
Until next time,
xoxo

January favourites!

Hello beautiful people! I hope you’ve all had a lovely week, and are looking forward to a fun weekend!
Since we’re only a couple of days away from the beginning of February, I figured a January favourites post was in order!

My first January favourite has got to be my new kitten, Woobie. She is the cutest, most energetic little baby, and I can’t imagine my house without her now!
DSCN1481

Next is actually a YouTube channel! I decided I want to make more of an effort to be physically active, but I’m so not a gym kind of person, so I haven’t always been motivated to exercise.
After finding Blogilates,that’s definitely changed!
Cassey Ho creates workouts that are fun and effective; they’re also not that long, which I personally prefer as I’m not the kind of person who can work out for hours on end! I’m definitely going at my own pace and taking it slow, but I look forward to working out alongside her videos! If you’re finding it hard to get motivated, I’d check out her channel.

During the winter months, I find my hair gets super dry and frizzy and my regular drugstore products just aren’t cutting it.
To remedy my issue, I went into Sephora and picked up the Living Proof PHD (perfect hair day) system, which has a shampoo, conditioner and a leave in treatment.
After the first use of these products my hair looked so much softer and healthier, there was way less frizz, and all in all my hair looked and felt 100 times better. I use the leave in treatment on my damp hair, and then I’ll either blow dry it or let it air dry, but I always end up with salon soft locks!
The shampoo and conditioner are quite pricey, at $30 a bottle, but as gross as it is, I only wash my hair 2 times a week, so the bottles last quite a while. I would say if you can’t afford those, at least go for the leave in treatment ($18) because I feel like alone it would still make your hair feel incredible!
DSCN1457

The Revlon colourburst laquer balm in tease is my next favourite. I’ve been wearing this every single day, it’s so gorgeous!
I recently used this in a drugstore make up look post, so I won’t go into too much of a ramble, but this pencil is hydrating while adding a lovely wash of colour to the lips. I’ll definitely continue using this throughout February and into the spring.
DSCN1453DSCN1455

I think I’m super late to the party on this product, but the Maybelline colour tattoo cream shadow in Bad to the Bronze (or on and on bronze depending where you live) is honestly incredible. It’s a gorgeous bronzey- taupe shade that creates a really beautiful effect on the lids. It’s got great pigmentation and it’s long lasting, just like all the other colour tattoos. I wear this by itself, or with shadow layered on top to add more intensity.
I’m sure a lot of you already have this in your collection, but if you don’t, I promise it’s worth the hype.
DSCN1463DSCN1464

Another product I wrote a whole blog post on is the LUSH cosmetics Mask of Magnaminty, so again, I won’t gas on about it. I use this mask once a week and have definitely noticed a huge improvement in my skin! I have way less break outs, and my skin looks smooth and glowing. If you haven’t tried this, please give it a shot! It smells great and really works!
DSCN1452

Yet again, a product I’ve already done a post on, but really love!
The Covergirl full lash bloom mascara separates lashes while adding a good amount of volume, and literally 0 flaking. I’ve worn this mascara for 12 hours straight without a single flake falling, and it’s not even a waterproof formula! The packaging is cute, and it’s a drugstore product so the price is right! If you’re looking for a new mascara, I would highly, highly recommend this one!
DSCN1466

Finally is another skin care discovery! The kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate is a blend of essential oils to help hydrate, and add radiance to your skin. You can use it on its own, or underneath your night cream depending how much hydration you want/need. I noticed a difference after only a few days of using this stuff! My skin looked less red, my blemishes weren’t as sore; my skin just looked hydrated and lovely. Also this serum smells slightly like lavender, which is soothing when you’re trying to fall asleep.
DSCN1462

January was full of new favourites!
Let me know if you guys have tried these & what you think of them!
Until next time,
xoxo

November Favourites!

Hello beautiful people!
I hope you’re all getting as amped up for the Christmas season as I am! Oh and happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my American readers out there. Hopefully if you’ve been taking advantage of the black Friday sales you’re being super safe! And also getting some great deals!

This month I threw a few none beauty favourites in just to make it a little whimsical and also I’ve just really been loving these particular things like no bodies business! But I’ll start with the beauty because it’s the most fun.

First off is the NARS blush in the shade Almeria ($35) which is part of their holiday collection. Can we just take a second to talk about how freaking gorgeous their holiday packaging is!? I’m in love.
DSCN0921
I’m a massive fan of NARS as a brand in general but there’s something about their blushes that just makes my heart race and this one had to come home with me. It’s a beautiful sort of rusty pink colour with a slightly berry tone in it as well, there’s a tiny hint of shimmer in there which adds the most subtle and natural glow to your cheeks which is perfect for this time of year. I have not stopped wearing this because I love how it makes my skin look, but I think its limited edition which means it much be cherished!
DSCN0922DSCN0923

Next is the Kat Von D studded Kiss lipstick in the shade lovecraft ($26) The packaging on this is also super cute!
DSCN0918
I’m sure you’ve heard other bloggers/YouTubers talking about this lipstick. It’s a really gorgeous dusty rose colour with a slight brown tint as well, this colour is very “Kylie Jenner” esque which I know is super on trend at the moment. I like this colour for everyday because it adds a little something to your look without being a full on bold lip, and the formulation is nice and creamy. All in all I’ve been loving this baby, it also smells like vanilla which is my all-time favourite scent!
DSCN0916DSCN0917

Last beauty favourite is the Flower Beauty About Face foundation ($13.50) I recently did a post on this so I won’t go into too much detail, but I’ve really been enjoying this foundation throughout November. It’s got good coverage, it’s not totally matte and it’s not full on dewy; it just adds a nice glow to the skin. If you’re looking for a new drugstore foundation I would definitely try this one out, it’s exclusively at Walmart!
DSCN0924

Onto the-none beauty faves!
First is the Bath and Body Works Frosted Cranberry candle. This is what I consider a transition candle, you don’t want to start burning those real christmasy candles too early, and this one for me is just christmasy enough without singing carols if that makes any sense! It smells like you’d expect it to, a nice cranberry scent with a little bit of sweetness too, not overpowering and really pleasant. Go give it a sniff!
DSCN0926

Every single time I’ve been near a David’s Tea I’ve had to go in and order an Organic Vanilla Chai iced tea latte, they’re so dang good! The Vanilla adds a tiny bit of sweetness which cuts on the spiciness of the chai, it’s honestly just divine! I asked Carmen to buy me some of the tea for Christmas so I can make them at home!

Last but definitely not least is the TV show The 100! My friend Lisha suggested this to me and I was hooked from the very first episode! It’s on Netflix and there’s 1 full season and the second season gets a new episode added once a week, so pace yourself if you’re going to get into it! I don’t want to give too much away, but basically it’s about these 100 prisoners who get sent back to earth from space after 97 years on “the Arc” which is their space station. The planet got nuked so people couldn’t live on it, but the 100 prisoners who get sent back are all under 18, and they have to survive all on their own to make sure earth is still habitable! I may not be explaining this very well, but if you love the hunger games and divergent you will love this show! It’s awesome.

That’s it for November’s favourites, but don’t forget that Blogmas here on Laauraborealis starts on Monday! If you didn’t read my last post, basically I’m going to be blogging every day until Christmas just letting you know what I’m getting up to! Also I’ve challenged myself to watch a Christmas movie a day during blogmas as well!

You guys are the best!
Until next time,
xoxo
