July Favourites 2015!

Hello beautiful people!

It is officially the last day in July, and as I say at the start of every monthly favourites post, I can’t believe how fast the month has gone by!
July is my favourite month in the summer because it’s my birthday month! which means a couple of these favourites were gifts making them quite new to me (My birthday was last Sunday) but favourites nonetheless!
I had a very lovely birthday, I am a very spoiled lady! The people in my life are the most spectacular, thoughtful, and amazing humans in the world, and they have no idea how much I love and appreciate them for being a part of my life.
Anyhoo! on to the good stuff!

My first favourite is actually a pair of shoes!

I bought these gorgeous brown leather wedges from ALDO earlier this month($90), and have been wearing them non-stop. I love the light brown colour of these, because it matches literally everything I own; whether it’s a party dress, jeans or a skirt these babies will go with it! I love the peep toe, and that from the front they almost look like little booties, but then you turn around and the back is like a sandal! these are also incredibly comfortable, and easy to wear, if you’re looking for a good summer wedge I would recommend checking these out.

My next favourite is an oldie but a goodie, I’ve had MAC Mythology eye shadow in my collection for years and I love it, but as with most beauty products, I go through phases where I just kind of forget how fabulous it is until I put it on again. July was one of those times where I applied it and thought “why did I ever stop wearing this!”

This shadow is an incredible bronze/copper shade with flecks of copper glitter in it(but they’re not too noticeable.) It’s the perfect shadow to sweep all over the lid and then wear loads of mascara to add definition to your eyes, or you could totally add something in the crease and a bit of winged liner for a glam look!
I love this colour especially for this time of year because it really brings out the colour of my eyes, and accentuates the tiny bit of a tan that I have on my face. I feel like this eye shadow would look good on any skin tone and with any eye colour though, its just a great one to have in your collection!

You guys may remember a post I wrote a while back on Saje Natural Wellness, well this next favourite is a product that has helped get a better nights sleep for the past month.
DSCN1891
Sleep well restful sleep remedy has literally changed the way I sleep, it’s a blend of essential oils that you rub on the bottoms of your feet and your pulse points (wrists, neck) half an hour before you go to sleep, and it helps you have a better nights sleep. it has chamomile, lavender, marjoram and valerian root, which are all very calming and soothing oils. They absorb slowly throughout the night and help you to stay asleep, so you wake up feeling refreshed and rested. I definitely notice a difference in the way I feel after a month of using this, if you have a Saje near you, and you find you don’t get a good nights sleep I would say try this out (their website ships internationally)!

The next two were actually both gifts from my best friend Amber, and I literally shrieked with joy when I opened them!
First is the Becca with Jaclyn Hill shimmering skin perfector in Champagne Pop!
DSCN1880DSCN1881
This is quite literally the most gorgeous highlighter I have ever used in my life. As the name would suggest, it’s a champagne colour, but the formulation is so luxurious and buttery, it actually feels like you’re touching velvet. Not to mention that this adds the most gorgeous glow to your skin, like Jlo glow, I’ve gotten so many compliments on my complexion since I starting wearing this! It is limited edition, so if you can get your hands on one I would highly suggest it! I will definitely be trying to get a back up ASAP! (Thank you Amber!!!)

This one was probably the most exciting for me because I had been whining to Amber for months that I wanted it, and just recently Charlotte Tilbury became available in Canada, so Amber being the bestie she is, went out and picked up the Film Star Bronze and Glow for me!

Can we just take a second to appreciate the beauty that is this duo?
Alright – this is a product that is 100% worth the hype, not only is the packaging rose gold and adorable – but the products themselves are heavenly. The sculpt shade is the perfect contour and or bronzer shade because the tiny amount of shimmer that’s in it doesn’t come up on the skin too much, and it’s got just the right balance of grey and muddy tones that you can use it for both! The highlight shade is a pale gold and accentuates the high points of my face like no ones business. With this duo you can literally become a goddess (or at least feel like one) I have been wearing this non-stop and I feel like a million bucks! I know this is pricey, but I would suggest saving and splurging because everyone needs this in their lives.

Last but not least is my birthday gift to myself, and it has a bit of a back story. In Canada, you have to be 18 to get a tattoo without an adult, so for my 18th birthday I went out and got my first one( it’s a little peace sign on my foot). Then, on my 19th and 20th I went out and got my second and third! So can you guess what I got myself this year? tattoo number four! Although I did take a four year break before this one.

I absolutely love this tattoo, because reading is such a massive part of my life and always has been. My parents made a point to read to my sisters and I, and always gave us books when we were growing up, they encouraged us to read on our own and choose books that peaked out interests. To this day I believe that I have the creativity and imagination that I do because my parents gave me so many books. Sometimes I just feel like reality is just so boring compared to the thousand lives I lived in the pages of my favourite novels.
To this day I am still a massive book worm, and so are my sisters and my parents, which is why I got 5 books, because there’s 5 of us.
To be honest, my family is not big on tattoos, but this one was so important to me.
(sorry to anyone in my family that disapproves & may be reading this, love you)

Until next time my loves,
xoxo

Blogmas day 11! – My favourite 14 things about the Holiday Season!

Hello beautiful people!
There are officially 14 days until Christmas! That’s only two weeks!!! I’m so incredibly excited, so in honour of my excitement and the fact that there are only 2 weeks until the best day of the year, todays post is going to be my top 14 favourite things about the Christmas season!
First as always:
DSCN1101

Number one:
Of course it’s all the time I get to spend with my friends and family. People come home from school and out of town and it just makes this time of year so magical, lots of togetherness which I love.

Number two:
The good eats! All the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and of course all the delicious sweets. This is the time of year where comfort food is a must, and there’s nothing better than breaking bread with good people.

Number three:
Christmas trees, one of my favourite traditions is decorating the tree with my family, but there’s just something about sitting next to my tree in the evening looking at the lights that just puts a big smile on my face.

*Yes that is a bow on my head

Number four:
Snow! This white fluffy stuff is so magical to me! I love how Christmas lights look once there’s snow on the ground, everything just looks beautiful covered in snow.

Number five:
Christmas music! Every chance I get as soon as December hits I’m listening to Christmas tunes. The Michael Buble holiday album is my favourite this year!

Number six:
Festive drinks! Apple cider, hot chocolate, mint tea; I’ll take it all! As long as it’s in a cute mug and accompanied by something sweet I’m a happy little elf.

Number seven:
Decorations. I love seeing how festive all the shops get, and people go all out with lights on their houses, it just makes the time of year seem so jolly!

Number eight:
Dark lips & glitter. What kind of beauty blogger would I be if I didn’t mention make-up? This time of year is the perfect excuse to wear as much glitter as you want! Either on your eyes, or your nails or your outfit; bring it on!
Dark lips are also a great trend that comes around every year at this time, it just adds sophistication and sexiness to any outfit or event!

Number nine:
Gifts – obviously. Definitely not the most important part of the season but I personally love shopping for gifts and watching people receive them. I try to put as much thought as possible into the gifts that I buy,and I like to see people react when they open them. And of course I like getting gifts because really, who doesn’t?

Number ten:
The fashion, I love getting to wear big sweaters and scarves and warm woolly hats and mittens. Everything about the fashion this time of year is so cozy and very comfort oriented which is always a plus!

Number eleven:
The candles, this time of year always has the sweetest and spiciest smelling candles which always puts me in a very festive mood ( Not that I need much help in that department)
DSCN1105

Number twelve:
This time of year always has the best gift sets! Cosmetic related or otherwise, you can always find gift sets with great products for cheaper than they normally would be on their own.

Number thirteen:
The movies – Christmas movies are fun to watch with loved ones and really it’s the only time of year you get to watch your holiday favourites.
Speaking of movies – Today’s is A Christmas Story which is one of my dad’s holiday favourites.

Number fourteen:
Christmas day! My whole family comes over and we spend the day chatting, playing games, and eating delicious food and it’s just the best day of the year!

I hope this made you feel festive!
Let me know what some of your favourites are!
Until tomorrow,
xoxo

March Favourites!

Hello Beautiful people! I can’t believe it’s already April! I have to say I’m super excited for the lovely spring weather to finally make its way here to Toronto and in light of that a lot of my favourites this month are quite springy.

First up is The Face Shop blush in the colour 05 peach cushion. First of all it has the CUTEST packaging I’ve ever seen, I love using the little puff ball to apply it because it makes me feel so feminine and lovely. Also, the pigmentation is great! It’s a matte peachy coral colour that I think really compliments my skin tone and I didn’t have a blush this colour so I was very excited to pick this one up, not to mention it’s 9$!
DSCN0130

Next is the Benefit girl meets pearl highlighter, it’s a liquid formulation that’s a champagne beige colour and it leaves the most gorgeous effect on the cheekbones, brow bone, cupids bow wherever you like to highlight. It doesn’t create a dramatic radiance just a really lovely glow to the skin which I’ve been absolutely loving since the weather has been getting relatively nice here in TO. It is quite expensive at $36 but it comes in the kind of packaging where you twist the bottom and the product comes out the top so it’s really easy to control how much comes out, and also you really don’t need a lot at all so it’ll last quite a while.
DSCN0131DSCN0132

I went to a Sephora VIB rouge event and picked up the Marc Jacobs limited edition matte lip gel in the colour pout, it’s a peachy nude colour and has a creamy and hydrating formulation. The woman at the store tried it on me and put a pink toned gloss over top and I absolutely fell in love and just had to have it. The lipstick was $36 and I ended up picking a different gloss that was less expensive, but I definitely think it’s going to be my staple everyday lipstick for spring time!
DSCN0133DSCN0134

The gloss I ended up purchasing was one of the new Urban Decay naked ultra-nourishing glosses in the colour walk of shame. It’s a pinky nude toned gloss with a TINY bit of shimmer that pairs beautifully with the Marc Jacobs lipstick and also looks gorgeous on its own. It smells a little bit minty and is a nice consistency, it’s not sticky at all but it’s slightly thick so you know It’s not going to be running all over your face. It retails for $24 dollars and they have a beautiful range of colours, I will definitely be picking up more of these glosses.
DSCN0125DSCN0129

Last is the Maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser, now this is definitely not a new product in the beauty blogging world but it is new to me and I really like it. It’s a clear balm with a really velvety feel, my foundation applies beautifully over top of it and it really does minimize the look of my pores. It’s a great alternative to benefit’s the porefessional as the baby skin one is about $6.

So those are all of the products I was loving in March and I’m sure I will continue loving throughout spring and summer! Let me know what some of your March Favourites were in the comments and don’t forget to hit the like&follow buttons because that always makes my day.
until next time, xoxo
