Sephora.ca Haul!

Hello beautiful people!
Happy Friday! Hopefully you all have sweet plans for the weekend, whether you live in Toronto and are going to the Ex or, if you live somewhere else and are just staying home to relax – I hope it’s wonderful.

A couple of weeks ago I placed an order on Sephora.ca because there were a few things I wanted to try out and I got an e-mail saying it was 4x the points for VIB Rouges, so to get even more point’s I asked my mom if she needed anything and we ended up spending over 300 dollars which got me around 1200 points! woohoo!
So Monday when I woke up with my swollen face and dragged myself out of bed, I was so excited to see a little brown box waiting for me! I didn’t include my mom’s stuff in this haul as it’s all her skin care and not all that exciting haha

First thing I wanted to pick up was the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara. I used to use the original diorshow which I loved, but it just got too expensive so I switched to less expensive ones. Lately all my mascara’s had been letting me down so I thought I’d try this one out even though it’s a little pricey ($35). I’ve used it 3 or 4 times and I’m still not sure how I feel about it, the formulation is great! It doesn’t really flake or transfer under the eyes which is great especially If you’re wearing it all day, and I do find that this really holds a curl, my lashes are definitely not dropping throughout the day. I’m just not sure I LOVE the way it makes my lashes actually look. It’s quite a clumpy formulation, and makes them a little bit crispy almost which is I guess how they hold their curl so well, but I’m not in love with the way my lashes look once I’ve put this on. I’m going to keep trying it, and hopefully I won’t have to return it, I’ll keep you guys posted, let me know if you use this and what you think or if there’s some trick to it.

This next product I was super stoked about because I’m already a die-hard fan of the original Kat Von D tattoo liner in trooper, she just brought out a new liquid liner called the ink liner so of course I had to pick it up ($23). This liner is different from the tattoo liner because it’s a felt tip as opposed to a brush tip, I honestly am not a huge fan of felt tip liners and I did find this one a little bit hard to work with at first but the formulation is just incredible. It’s a really intense black and creates a bolder line than the tattoo liner which has a finer brush allowing you to build your cat eye. I’m curious to see how fast it dries out in comparison to her other one and to see if the felt tip fray’s at all, I guess we’ll see. All in all I’m really impressed with this liner I think I just need a little more practice with the felt tip but I think her tattoo liner is still going to stay my holy grail liquid liner.

The last thing I actually purchased was this St. Tropez self tan starter kit. Now I have never self tanned, ever and I was very nervous to buy this product but for $32 I figured I’d give it a try. I’ve always wanted to self-tan but because I’m so pale I was nervous I would turn out orange no matter what product I used, but I have been assured that the St. Tropez products are really good so hopefully it all goes alright. The kit includes a mit, and travel sized of the tan enhancing body polish, tanning mousse, and tan enhancing body lotion. I haven’t used this yet but I’m going to get the courage up in a week or two and get Amber to help me as she’s done it before. If you guys have any tips please let me know in the comments!
DSCN0347

Now when you order from Sephora online you get to choose 3 samples that they’ll send to you, the samples the day I ordered weren’t great but they did have the new glam glow thirstymud (the blue one) which I had been wanting to try so I got that one, a dr. brandt self-adjusting bb cream that I’ll probably give my mom because I’m always too pale for self-adjusting product’s. last but not lease I got a jack black double duty face moisturizer which I’ll likely give to my brother in-law.
DSCN0343

I also found a code online which allowed me to get a mini manicure kit for free, it came with a sample of the Sephora formula x cuticle erasing cream and cuticle oil which I’m excited to try out although I love my OPI cuticle oil. It also came with two different types of nail polish removing wipes, the Josie Maran bear naked nail wipes which smell like grapefruit and the butter London scrubbers pad, I think these will be kept in the make up bag I keep in my purse because you never know when you need an emergency fix. Finally it came with this tiny little sample of the L’occitane dry skin hand cream which is also going straight into my purse because it’s just so cute and little and a girl can never have too much lotion.
DSCN0344

Last thing before you check out is they ask if you want to spend any of your beauty insider points, normally I’ll skip this step or pick up the odd 100 point perk but this time I has like 2000 points and I figured I’d spend some since I’m getting 4x the points for the purchase and I’d just get them back anyhow. So I picked this Marc Jacobs highliner gel eye crayon in the colour brownout, at first I was super excited about this but once I swatched it I realised there are pretty big glitter particles in it so I wouldn’t be using it to line the line or define the lash line at all. The formulation is gorgeous though, super creamy and really easily blended and it stays in place, I found it hard to remove the swatch from my hand with a wipe. I will definitely use this as a base for a smokey eye, or even by itself as a smokey eye because the colour is pretty it’s just the glitter that threw me off.
DSCN0345DSCN0346

For 500 points I got this Benefit “hotrageous hits” which is pretty much just a sample pack of 5 of their best sellers, most of which I already have. I really wanted this because there’s a sample size of Hoola the matte bronzer which I’ve really been wanting to try and am super stoked to use.

Have a fantastic weekend, you guys are the best!

Date night outfit and make-up look!

Hello beautiful people!
I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend and got up to some super fun things!
Right now in Toronto there’s a thing called summerlicious going on! Restaurants have three course lunches and dinners on for super cheap, it’s a good chance to try out new places and new foods. Carmen and I decided to make a date night out of it on Friday, so we picked a restaurant off the summerlicious list and had an awesome dinner at Milestones which I wouldn’t have normally picked, but I was really impressed!
Since Friday was a date night I figured I’d do a little post about my outfit and make up for the night!

DSCN0237
It was pretty hot on Friday so I decided to go with a striped cotton dress that I picked up at Target a few weeks ago, I think it was around 30$, my necklace is from Urban Outfitter and it was about $20, my sandals are from DSW, I picked them up in Cleveland last summer and I think they were $50. My purse is vintage I got it at Black Market and it was $10. I really wanted to keep my outfit simple and fun, not to mention comfortable (and a little stretchy) since we ended up eating a TON of food.

DSCN0245
DSCN0247
I wanted my make-up look to be a little smoky but nothing too dramatic!
Foundation : Estee lauder double wear in 1C1 cool bone ($45), I just buffed this all over my skin
Concealer: NARS radiant creamy concealer in Chantilly ($32), I used this on any blemishes and under my eyes
Brows: I use Omega eye shadow ($19) from MAC and apply it with a MAC 266 brush ($22)
eye lid primer : Urban decay primer potion ($22)
eye shadow : Naked 2 palette ($62) I used bootycall all over the lid, and snakebite thought the crease and outer corner, and I used black out along the lash line to add some definition.
DSCN0257DSCN0259
mascara: Maybelline pumped up collosal volume express ($7) , Clinique bottom lash mascara ($12)
Powder : RImmel stay matte ($5) I used this through my t-zone to get rid of some shine
bronzer & highlighter: Sleek contour kit ($10) I used the bronzer on the high pointed of my face to add a sun kissed look and added the highlighter to the tops of my cheek bones
blush: Marc Jacobs blush in Promiscuous ($36) I used this on the apples of my cheeks

That’s everything I wore and used on my date night with Carmen! Let me know in the comments what you got up to this weekend or some of your favourite products for a date! Don’t forget to hit all the good buttons and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Until next time,

April Favourites!

Hello beautiful people
I cannot believe how quickly April FLEW by, it’s honestly surreal, I feel like yesterday I was writing my March Favourites post!
anyhoo! This month’s favourite is a little random, a couple beauty products, a couple fashion items and a couple of food items as well! I wanted to throw a few different favourites in so you guys can get to know me a little better 🙂

First up is my Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C purse, Amber bought this for me for Christmas and since the weather has gotten nicer I’ve finally been able to take it out and I LOVE it, such a lovely gift to get and such a cute bag for spring time. Since she got me the stripped one it matches pretty much anything I wear because the colours are pretty neutral, and also fits in with the nautical theme that seems to be quite on trend this season. It’s nice and small so I can fit my wallet, my phone, a pack of gum and some lip gloss, which is nice because in winter I find I carry a lot more in my purse. So this one allows me to downsize and only carry what I really need! All and all this is definitely going to be my staple handbag for spring and summer time!
DSCN0144

Next is this necklace I picked up in Forever21, I like to wear this with a really plain shirt or dress to make it a little fancier and add a cute springy flourish, a bonus is that it was on sale I think I paid around 11$ which is a steal. The cream coloured flowers match pretty much everything and gold is nice and warm which is a nice change for me as I almost only wear silver. I normally don’t wear a lot of jewelry but I’ve been seeing these statement necklaces on people and they look so lovely and chic that I just had to get one and I’ve really been enjoying wearing it and I will definitely be picking up a few more!
DSCN0145

As I said in my last post I absolutely love all the Marc Jacobs fragrances, so when I heard he was bringing out a new limited edition scent of the daisy and daisy eau so fresh line I just had to check it out. I went into Sephora and gave them both a sniff and fell in love with the new Daisy eau so fresh delight scent, I’ve been using this every single day since I picked it up, it was quite expensive at $89 but I used my 15% when that promotion was going on so I thought it was a good deal. It smells so fresh and light, it’s almost a mix of the regular eau so fresh and dot with a little more of a floral accent. The bottle is also adorable with all the colours and the classic daisy accents on the lid, so if you’re in the market for a new spring fragrance I would definitely recommend checking these out.
DSCN0146

I’ve had this next product in my collection for about a year but I used it every single day in April because it is absolutely gorgeous. The Dior amber diamond powder highlighter creates the most gorgeous glow to the cheek bones, we’re talking like Victoria secret angel glow. I’ve also been using this on top of a matte bronzer as eye shadow which creates a beautiful effect, I got that tip from my favourite youtube beauty guru Tanya Burr – if you haven’t watched her videos you should check them out! She is brilliant. Amber Diamond is just a gorgeous product, a little pricey at $45 but you don’t need a lot as it is so shimmery, I’ve barely even put a dent in mine. This is such a fantastic highlighter for spring if your skin is still a little dull from the longest winter ever, I can’t say enough good things about it, it’s just incredible.
DSCN0149

The next two favourites are food items, First is the Harvest Crunch quinoa chocolate nut medley granola bars, I think they come with fruit as well but I prefer these ones cause they have some chocolate in them haha. I find it so hard to pick granola bars in the grocery store because of the sheer amount of them; it’s a whole aisle of them! So when I saw these I pounced because quinoa is a pure protein which is great if you need some energy and it’s a nice alternative to a classic granola bar, plus they’re absolutely delicious!

DSCN0142

Finally is the bolthouse farms Green Goodness smoothie, I find it difficult to fit the recommended amount of vegetables in my daily routine and I know that’s terrible so I wanted to try to make a conscious effort to be better about what I’m putting into my body. When I saw these at Loblaw I kind of thought “this looks like it could be either really good or really gross” but they were on sale so I picked one up and they taste GREAT. I finished the first bottle in 3 days and went back to get more! They have mango, pineapple, banana, kiwi and apple but also spinach, green tea, wheat grass, barley grass, garlic and a bunch of other things that are really good for you. I’ve been drinking one glass of this every day and I do feel like I’m doing good things for my body which puts me in a positive mood!

Well that’s it for my April favourites, let me know in the comments if you like the little random favourites I added or what posts you’d like to see from me next! Also, I’ve been pondering the idea of starting a YouTube channel, what do you guys think? Would you watch? Let me know! Don’t forget to hit the good buttons!
Until next time my loves, xoxo

March Favourites!

Hello Beautiful people! I can’t believe it’s already April! I have to say I’m super excited for the lovely spring weather to finally make its way here to Toronto and in light of that a lot of my favourites this month are quite springy.

First up is The Face Shop blush in the colour 05 peach cushion. First of all it has the CUTEST packaging I’ve ever seen, I love using the little puff ball to apply it because it makes me feel so feminine and lovely. Also, the pigmentation is great! It’s a matte peachy coral colour that I think really compliments my skin tone and I didn’t have a blush this colour so I was very excited to pick this one up, not to mention it’s 9$!
DSCN0130

Next is the Benefit girl meets pearl highlighter, it’s a liquid formulation that’s a champagne beige colour and it leaves the most gorgeous effect on the cheekbones, brow bone, cupids bow wherever you like to highlight. It doesn’t create a dramatic radiance just a really lovely glow to the skin which I’ve been absolutely loving since the weather has been getting relatively nice here in TO. It is quite expensive at $36 but it comes in the kind of packaging where you twist the bottom and the product comes out the top so it’s really easy to control how much comes out, and also you really don’t need a lot at all so it’ll last quite a while.
DSCN0131DSCN0132

I went to a Sephora VIB rouge event and picked up the Marc Jacobs limited edition matte lip gel in the colour pout, it’s a peachy nude colour and has a creamy and hydrating formulation. The woman at the store tried it on me and put a pink toned gloss over top and I absolutely fell in love and just had to have it. The lipstick was $36 and I ended up picking a different gloss that was less expensive, but I definitely think it’s going to be my staple everyday lipstick for spring time!
DSCN0133DSCN0134

The gloss I ended up purchasing was one of the new Urban Decay naked ultra-nourishing glosses in the colour walk of shame. It’s a pinky nude toned gloss with a TINY bit of shimmer that pairs beautifully with the Marc Jacobs lipstick and also looks gorgeous on its own. It smells a little bit minty and is a nice consistency, it’s not sticky at all but it’s slightly thick so you know It’s not going to be running all over your face. It retails for $24 dollars and they have a beautiful range of colours, I will definitely be picking up more of these glosses.
DSCN0125DSCN0129

Last is the Maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser, now this is definitely not a new product in the beauty blogging world but it is new to me and I really like it. It’s a clear balm with a really velvety feel, my foundation applies beautifully over top of it and it really does minimize the look of my pores. It’s a great alternative to benefit’s the porefessional as the baby skin one is about $6.
DSCN0127DSCN0128

So those are all of the products I was loving in March and I’m sure I will continue loving throughout spring and summer! Let me know what some of your March Favourites were in the comments and don’t forget to hit the like&follow buttons because that always makes my day.
until next time, xoxo

Product Empties!

Hello beautiful people!
I hope February was a wonderful month for all of you and I hope March will be even better! March is looking like it’s going to be a great for me as I’ll be starting up a job as a Gardener which I’m very excited about!
So I’ve seen these posts quite a bit and thought they were such a good idea, so I’ve been collecting my empties over the past couple of months and I’ll let you know what I thought of them and if I’ll re-purchase.

First up is the Batiste dry shampoo, I got a three pack from winners in the travel sizes before my boyfriend Carmen and I left on vacation for the Bahamas. I took the Original formula with me and I absolutely love it! It really absorbs any grease in my hair and adds a good amount of volume which I find to be important in the dry shampoos I like as I have pretty thin hair. It doesn’t sit heavy either, it’s quite a light formulation which is great because it doesn’t weigh my hair down at all! The one thing I will say is that it does spray into your hair white, so if you have dark hair like I do, you do have to work it in quite well so you can’t see any white residue. The original formula smells quite nice also, light and fresh and I think the full size retails for about 7$ which is pretty cheap. I’m going to keep using the other two and see how the scents are, but I can definitely see myself purchasing the larger size of the original scent.
DSCN0115

Next up is a bit of an oldie for me, it’s the smashbox photo finish primer in green which is supposed to help reduce redness. I bought this a couple of years ago (shh) and I never really got into using it daily, then I used it for my sister’s wedding and fell completely in love with it. It has sort of a liquid to powder feel, and did help to cancel out any redness I had in my skin, it is quite expensive around the 50$ mark but it is well worth it. Foundation smoothed onto my skin like silk and I used this up really quickly. They’ve re-packaged it and it comes in a squeeze tube now which is much more makeup bag/travel friendly but as far as I know they haven’t changed the actual product. I’m currently trying out a couple of other primers but I know I’ll be re-purchasing this one as soon.
DSCN0116

sometimes I’m lazy and like to take my makeup off with a wipe (don’t tell) I also use them if I’m applying make up to multiple people and want to give my brushes a little clean or cleanse their face.
The wipes I’ve been absolutely loving are the Simple cleansing face wipes. These are great for people who have sensitive skin or eyes, these wipes are oil and alcohol free, they have vitamin b5 to help soften the skin and they’re perfume and dye free. They don’t dry greasy and your skin really does feel cleansed and make up free, these don’t sting your eyes either which is a bonus BUT it is sort of hard to take off your eye makeup with these so I’d say use a separate eye makeup remover especially if you use a waterproof mascara. They sell for around 10$ for 25 wipes which is a bit expensive but if you’re not using them every day than I think they’re worth the money.
DSCN0118

The next product unfortunately was a bit of a let-down for me, it’s the Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er in blacquer. I wanted to love this eye liner so badly, and for the first I’d say 2 weeks I had it I did, I raved about it! And as it got more and more used to felt tip started to get little balls on it which I then had to pull off getting eye liner all over my finger(picture below). The tip also goes all soft and wonky making it so hard to apply, at first it created the most amazing liquid line and I was stoked, but as time went on I just became more and more frustrated with this product. The formulation is GORGEOUS, it has a leathery look as opposed to glossy or matte, it’s a pretty intense black and it also doesn’t smudge easily. I just really wish this liner had stayed fabulous, considering its 30$! I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it.
DSCN0120DSCN0121

The Clinique bottom lash mascara, this was in my January favourite’s post I believe and I will absolutely be purchasing this little guy again! My bottom lashes always look separated and defined when I use this, and the formulation does not budge! It’s actually rather hard to get off in all honesty, but totally worth it cause if you lose the mascara off your bottom lashes this little tube will be your new best friend, and a decent deal at 12$. I would and do recommend this to everyone!
DSCN0119

Last but absolutely not least is the Caudalie hand and nail cream. I got this in a gift set from my best friend Amber for my birthday last year and it has been in my hand bag since! This cream is fast absorbing and super hydrating, my hands always feel super soft after I use this, and it smells really nice, a little bit of citrus but not in an overpowering way. It’s not greasy and you don’t end up rubbing your hands together forever to get it to work its way in, and you don’t need a lot of it either which is a bonus because I believe this little tube retails for $12 so it’s a little pricey. I’m currently using a L’occitane hand cream in my purse but I will definitely be going back to this one once I run out of that one!
DSCN0117

Those are all my empties, let me know if you guys have used any of these and what you thought or if you have any recommendations and don’t forget to hit the like button!

Until next time xoxo,
