Product Empties #3!

Hello beautiful people!
Did you all have a lovely weekend? Mine was pretty quiet, just running errands and cozy evenings in, which was really nice after a hectic week. The weather here was pretty chilly this weekend too, so it was nice just to curl up on the couch with a blanket and a cup of tea after dinner.

I seem to have gathered up a few more empties I thought I’d share with you guys!

DSCN2072
Batiste Dry Shampoo $6.99
I love this stuff! It keeps my hair fresh between washes, and the original scent is really fresh and nice without being too over powering. It is white in colour, but I like to just spray it into my roots, sit for a minute or two and then really work it into my hair with my hands, and you can’t see any white at all. This gives a nice amount of volume to second or third day hair as well, and it doesn’t build up on the roots or scalp which I really like. I’m currently using a Cake dry shampoo, but once I’m finished with that I’ll definitely be repurchasing this guy!  (I think this sells for about $11 dollars at shoppers drug mart, but you can find it all the time at Winners for $6.99!)

Origins Original Skin Serum $48
This was my second bottle of this, and I’ve already purchased a third. I love love love this serum, I’ve definitely raved about it before so I wont ramble too much. It’s helped even out my skin tone, made my skin softer and smoother, helped keep breakouts at bay and definitely brightened my complexion! If you have not tried this, please do, it’s amazing!

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizer $78
I don’t think I ever mentioned this in a post while I was using it, but this was a really lovely moisturizer. Super nourishing, quite a light consistency that absorbed quickly. This was an expensive cream, but it made a difference in my skin in terms of keeping it well hydrated and soft; while I was using this my skin felt pampered all the time, and make up layered on top of it beautifully. I didn’t repurchase this right away, but if I’m ever feeling like my skin really needs a pick me up I’ll definitely be getting another bottle of this stuff.

DSCN2075
Living Proof PHD 5-in-1 Treatment $18
This treatment is my hair saviour! But, again I’ve reviewed this before so I wont ramble. This cream makes my hair softer, smoother and easier to style! It also keeps it feeling cleaner for longer when you use the shampoo and conditioner with it. I’ve repurchased this because my hair does not preform the same way without this stuff! A bottle lasts a long time because you only need a pea sized amount for your locks!

DSCN2076
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara $12
This little guy is a holy grail product for me, I could not do without this in my collection. It adds the most incredible definition and length to my bottom lashes, and the tiny little brush allows me to coat every single one of my lashes! The formulation of this does not move, you can rub your eyes, go swimming, work out – doesn’t matter, your bottom lashes will still be perfect!

That’s all for now my loves,
Until next time,
xoxo

Sephora.ca Haul #3 : VIB Rouge sale part 1

Hello beautiful people!
I’m sorry I’ve been away for a while, but I hope while I was gone you’ve all done incredible and exciting things!

So, as many of you may know, Sephora recently had a sale where VIB’s and Rouges either got 10% or 15% of their purchases. (I’m a VIB Rouge so I received 15% off all purchases from April 13th to the 21st!)
When I received this glorious news, I thought to myself, what kind of beauty blogger would I be if I didn’t utilize my discount to the fullest? Meaning, this is actually only the first half of my haul because I placed a second order on Monday which will be coming in the mail later, so once I get that I’ll do a second post if you guys are interested in seeing that!
I did re-purchase a few of my holy-grails but I also got a few new things too!

Let’s get to it, shall we?

First thing I picked up was the new Hourglass Ambient Bronzer in the shade Luminous Bronze Light ($60).
Now, when I swatched this, I was slightly nervous because it looked really orange, and the shimmer in it seemed very chunky. BUT when I applied it to my skin with a brush I fell head over heels in love with this product! It adds the most natural and radiant glow to my face, it doesn’t look orange on the skin at all, and the shimmer is almost non-existent!  This is very pricey (hence waiting for %15 off) but for me, well worth the price, because as a woman with a fair complexion, I find it very hard to find beautiful bronzers, but this baby is going to be adding a bronze glow to my skin for the foreseeable future!
I believe they have a shade for darker skin tones as well, but if you’re interested in trying these I would suggest actually applying them to the face with a brush, as opposed to swatching them with your fingers!

Next up is something that won’t be a shock to those of you who have been reading Laauraborealis for a while. The Clinique bottom lash mascara ($12), I can’t use anything else on my bottom lashes! This teeny-tiny brush separates my lashes like a dream, it coats them evenly and without clumps. Not to mention the formula is literally like concrete, this stuff does not move from your bottom lashes! I wish Clinique would use this formula for one of their regular mascara’s; I would be on that in a snap!

You all know I love my NARS radiant creamy concealer, but I’ve re-purchased it so many times that I thought I’d give something else a try during the sale, so I picked up the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Cover Concealer (that’s a mouthful) in the shade fair neutral ($34). This concealer is super impressive; it has a light weight texture with incredible coverage! I wouldn’t say it has as much coverage as the NARS concealer, but sometimes it’s nice to have something smoother under the eyes, and this blends out really nicely. It has a doe-foot applicator which makes it easy to apply, and it lasts all day without creasing, all in all I’m really enjoying this!

Obviously when I placed this order, I completely forgot about my bathroom drawer full of make-up bags and got myself another one! I will say though, that this one was just too cute to pass on! It’s a Sephora make-up bag that says ‘life is short, wear more make up’ ($18) They had a couple of more with different sayings, but I liked this one the best.
DSCN1656

The next two products are re-purchases as well, and I’ve definitely talked about them before so I won’t ramble on too much.

The Living Proof PHD 5-in-1 leave in treatment ($18 for 1 oz) is my absolute favourite leave in conditioner. If I forget to use this, or run out of it, my hair is a frizzy and dry mess; my hair is so much smoother and softer when I put this in after I shower!
DSCN1651

Finally, the Urban Decay de-slick oil control setting spray ($36) Honestly, if you’ve never tried this stuff you need to! My make-up stays in place all day long with no shine when I use this! It’s absolutely a Holy Grail product for me; I cannot be without this stuff in my collection!
DSCN1652

Alright my loves, let me know if you want to see the second half of this haul and I’ll definitely write a post when it comes in the mail!
I have lots of posts planned for the upcoming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled!
Until next time,
xoxo

January favourites!

Hello beautiful people! I hope you’ve all had a lovely week, and are looking forward to a fun weekend!
Since we’re only a couple of days away from the beginning of February, I figured a January favourites post was in order!

My first January favourite has got to be my new kitten, Woobie. She is the cutest, most energetic little baby, and I can’t imagine my house without her now!
DSCN1481

Next is actually a YouTube channel! I decided I want to make more of an effort to be physically active, but I’m so not a gym kind of person, so I haven’t always been motivated to exercise.
After finding Blogilates,that’s definitely changed!
Cassey Ho creates workouts that are fun and effective; they’re also not that long, which I personally prefer as I’m not the kind of person who can work out for hours on end! I’m definitely going at my own pace and taking it slow, but I look forward to working out alongside her videos! If you’re finding it hard to get motivated, I’d check out her channel.

During the winter months, I find my hair gets super dry and frizzy and my regular drugstore products just aren’t cutting it.
To remedy my issue, I went into Sephora and picked up the Living Proof PHD (perfect hair day) system, which has a shampoo, conditioner and a leave in treatment.
After the first use of these products my hair looked so much softer and healthier, there was way less frizz, and all in all my hair looked and felt 100 times better. I use the leave in treatment on my damp hair, and then I’ll either blow dry it or let it air dry, but I always end up with salon soft locks!
The shampoo and conditioner are quite pricey, at $30 a bottle, but as gross as it is, I only wash my hair 2 times a week, so the bottles last quite a while. I would say if you can’t afford those, at least go for the leave in treatment ($18) because I feel like alone it would still make your hair feel incredible!
DSCN1457

The Revlon colourburst laquer balm in tease is my next favourite. I’ve been wearing this every single day, it’s so gorgeous!
I recently used this in a drugstore make up look post, so I won’t go into too much of a ramble, but this pencil is hydrating while adding a lovely wash of colour to the lips. I’ll definitely continue using this throughout February and into the spring.
DSCN1453DSCN1455

I think I’m super late to the party on this product, but the Maybelline colour tattoo cream shadow in Bad to the Bronze (or on and on bronze depending where you live) is honestly incredible. It’s a gorgeous bronzey- taupe shade that creates a really beautiful effect on the lids. It’s got great pigmentation and it’s long lasting, just like all the other colour tattoos. I wear this by itself, or with shadow layered on top to add more intensity.
I’m sure a lot of you already have this in your collection, but if you don’t, I promise it’s worth the hype.

Another product I wrote a whole blog post on is the LUSH cosmetics Mask of Magnaminty, so again, I won’t gas on about it. I use this mask once a week and have definitely noticed a huge improvement in my skin! I have way less break outs, and my skin looks smooth and glowing. If you haven’t tried this, please give it a shot! It smells great and really works!
DSCN1452

Yet again, a product I’ve already done a post on, but really love!
The Covergirl full lash bloom mascara separates lashes while adding a good amount of volume, and literally 0 flaking. I’ve worn this mascara for 12 hours straight without a single flake falling, and it’s not even a waterproof formula! The packaging is cute, and it’s a drugstore product so the price is right! If you’re looking for a new mascara, I would highly, highly recommend this one!
DSCN1466

Finally is another skin care discovery! The kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate is a blend of essential oils to help hydrate, and add radiance to your skin. You can use it on its own, or underneath your night cream depending how much hydration you want/need. I noticed a difference after only a few days of using this stuff! My skin looked less red, my blemishes weren’t as sore; my skin just looked hydrated and lovely. Also this serum smells slightly like lavender, which is soothing when you’re trying to fall asleep.

January was full of new favourites!
Let me know if you guys have tried these & what you think of them!
Until next time,
xoxo
