Hello beautiful people!
Happy Friday! Hopefully you all have sweet plans for the weekend, whether you live in Toronto and are going to the Ex or, if you live somewhere else and are just staying home to relax – I hope it’s wonderful.
A couple of weeks ago I placed an order on Sephora.ca because there were a few things I wanted to try out and I got an e-mail saying it was 4x the points for VIB Rouges, so to get even more point’s I asked my mom if she needed anything and we ended up spending over 300 dollars which got me around 1200 points! woohoo!
So Monday when I woke up with my swollen face and dragged myself out of bed, I was so excited to see a little brown box waiting for me! I didn’t include my mom’s stuff in this haul as it’s all her skin care and not all that exciting haha
First thing I wanted to pick up was the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara. I used to use the original diorshow which I loved, but it just got too expensive so I switched to less expensive ones. Lately all my mascara’s had been letting me down so I thought I’d try this one out even though it’s a little pricey ($35). I’ve used it 3 or 4 times and I’m still not sure how I feel about it, the formulation is great! It doesn’t really flake or transfer under the eyes which is great especially If you’re wearing it all day, and I do find that this really holds a curl, my lashes are definitely not dropping throughout the day. I’m just not sure I LOVE the way it makes my lashes actually look. It’s quite a clumpy formulation, and makes them a little bit crispy almost which is I guess how they hold their curl so well, but I’m not in love with the way my lashes look once I’ve put this on. I’m going to keep trying it, and hopefully I won’t have to return it, I’ll keep you guys posted, let me know if you use this and what you think or if there’s some trick to it.
This next product I was super stoked about because I’m already a die-hard fan of the original Kat Von D tattoo liner in trooper, she just brought out a new liquid liner called the ink liner so of course I had to pick it up ($23). This liner is different from the tattoo liner because it’s a felt tip as opposed to a brush tip, I honestly am not a huge fan of felt tip liners and I did find this one a little bit hard to work with at first but the formulation is just incredible. It’s a really intense black and creates a bolder line than the tattoo liner which has a finer brush allowing you to build your cat eye. I’m curious to see how fast it dries out in comparison to her other one and to see if the felt tip fray’s at all, I guess we’ll see. All in all I’m really impressed with this liner I think I just need a little more practice with the felt tip but I think her tattoo liner is still going to stay my holy grail liquid liner.
The last thing I actually purchased was this St. Tropez self tan starter kit. Now I have never self tanned, ever and I was very nervous to buy this product but for $32 I figured I’d give it a try. I’ve always wanted to self-tan but because I’m so pale I was nervous I would turn out orange no matter what product I used, but I have been assured that the St. Tropez products are really good so hopefully it all goes alright. The kit includes a mit, and travel sized of the tan enhancing body polish, tanning mousse, and tan enhancing body lotion. I haven’t used this yet but I’m going to get the courage up in a week or two and get Amber to help me as she’s done it before. If you guys have any tips please let me know in the comments!
Now when you order from Sephora online you get to choose 3 samples that they’ll send to you, the samples the day I ordered weren’t great but they did have the new glam glow thirstymud (the blue one) which I had been wanting to try so I got that one, a dr. brandt self-adjusting bb cream that I’ll probably give my mom because I’m always too pale for self-adjusting product’s. last but not lease I got a jack black double duty face moisturizer which I’ll likely give to my brother in-law.
I also found a code online which allowed me to get a mini manicure kit for free, it came with a sample of the Sephora formula x cuticle erasing cream and cuticle oil which I’m excited to try out although I love my OPI cuticle oil. It also came with two different types of nail polish removing wipes, the Josie Maran bear naked nail wipes which smell like grapefruit and the butter London scrubbers pad, I think these will be kept in the make up bag I keep in my purse because you never know when you need an emergency fix. Finally it came with this tiny little sample of the L’occitane dry skin hand cream which is also going straight into my purse because it’s just so cute and little and a girl can never have too much lotion.
Last thing before you check out is they ask if you want to spend any of your beauty insider points, normally I’ll skip this step or pick up the odd 100 point perk but this time I has like 2000 points and I figured I’d spend some since I’m getting 4x the points for the purchase and I’d just get them back anyhow. So I picked this Marc Jacobs highliner gel eye crayon in the colour brownout, at first I was super excited about this but once I swatched it I realised there are pretty big glitter particles in it so I wouldn’t be using it to line the line or define the lash line at all. The formulation is gorgeous though, super creamy and really easily blended and it stays in place, I found it hard to remove the swatch from my hand with a wipe. I will definitely use this as a base for a smokey eye, or even by itself as a smokey eye because the colour is pretty it’s just the glitter that threw me off.
For 500 points I got this Benefit “hotrageous hits” which is pretty much just a sample pack of 5 of their best sellers, most of which I already have. I really wanted this because there’s a sample size of Hoola the matte bronzer which I’ve really been wanting to try and am super stoked to use.
That’s everything I got in my Sephora.ca haul! Let me know if you guys would like to see more posts like this! And don’t forget to hit all the good buttons!
Have a fantastic weekend, you guys are the best!
Until next time,
