Hello beautiful people!
I’m so excited to be writing this post, because it’s been a long time in the making!
Just before Christmas I reached out to the lovely Becca from Beckinablog to ask her if she was interested in doing a beauty swap with me! She said yes!
So, for the past few months we’ve been hashing out the details, until finally at the beginning of March we both shipped off our packages!
I thought doing a swap with a fellow blogger would be a great way for each of us to try products we can’t get in our home countries. I’m from Canada and Becca is from England, so I figured we could definitely send each other some awesome goodies! I had such a good time shopping for her, and obviously we had a budget, and took post and exchange rates into consideration, but most of all it was just fun to chat back and forth! It was like having a modern day pen-pal!
On to the good stuff! It was almost like Christmas morning when I woke up to her parcel on the front porch! I ran upstairs and tore the tape off, she had written me the loveliest note inside which really made it feel like such a personal gift.
First thing I opened was something I had asked her to send me, the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in the shade 01 fair. I had heard so many YouTuber’s and bloggers talk about this, I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Let me tell you, this product is well worth the hype! This is probably one of the best concealer’s I’ve used, it has incredible coverage without being too thick, it lasts all day long and it doesn’t crease. I just have to use it sparingly because I don’t want to run out!
Next I opened a Tanya Burr lip gloss in the colour Picnic in the Park, this has the nicest formulation! It’s not too sticky, it has a good amount of colour and it smells like strawberry candies! This shade doesn’t have any shimmer; it just adds the most beautiful pop of colour to your lips which really brightens up your face.
I also asked for anything from the Zoella bath line, so when I opened the Fizz Bar I literally shrieked! I took this photo before I had used any, but I’ve used them since and they smell absolutely incredible. The scent is quite fresh, but also sweet and comforting, and they leave your skin feeling nice and soft! I used 2 of the cubes, and again, this is something I’m going to have to use only on special occasions!
I hadn’t heard of this brand before, but I really like this product! The B.Vibrant Lip and Cheek colour in the shade 119 Prom. It’s a really pretty dusty pink, which looks gorgeous as a blush and a lipstick! It lasts all day on the cheeks and quite a while on the lips! I really like the shade, I think it compliments my skin tone and it’s a perfect pink for spring.
Becca also sent me a Barry M nail paint in the colour 318 Peach Melba. I had to giggle when I opened this because I actually sent her a very similar nail polish! Great minds think alike!
This polish is great! It dries so quickly, it has a great brush, and it applies evenly! I used 2 coats and it lasted about 4 days without a single chip!
The Make Up Academy Shimmer Kisses Blusher in the shade Pink Shimmer Kisses is a really pretty, sheer blush. It has 4 colours that you can swirl your brush all around in, and it adds the most natural glow to your skin. The only thing I would say I don’t really like about this is the scent, it smells a little bit like Band-Aids, but the scent doesn’t transfer to your skin and the effect is so amazing I don’t really mind.
I was so pumped to receive the Sleek Makeup Face Form contouring and blush palette in the colour light 373. This palette comes with a contour/bronzing powder, a champagne highlighter and a beautiful pink blush that has gold shimmer in. This blush reminds me a lot of NARS orgasm or Benefit Coralista! The contour powder is a great shade for adding definition to the face, and the highlighter isn’t over the top, it just adds a nice dewy effect to the tops of the cheek bones. I’ve been using this palette non-stop since she sent it to me, because I just love it that much!
Last but absolutely not least is the Makeup Revolution Run Boy Run eye shadow palette! This has 18 colours, 12 are shimmery and 6 are matte, it has the most amazing variety of shades that would suit all skin tones and allow you to create any kind of look you want, from natural to smoky. These shadows have great pigmentation and they feel super soft, which makes them incredibly easy to blend, the matte shades are great for adding definition in the crease and lash line, or just an all matte look! I’ve been reaching for this a lot since I got it, because it has colours that are so different from anything I have in my collection, so I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with it!

I just want to say a HUGE thank you to Becca for doing this with me, I had so much fun and I would definitely be interested in doing it again! I feel like I’ve really made a friend in her; and if she ever comes to visit Canada she’ll definitely have a tour guide!
If you want to read Becca’s post on all the goodies I sent her, just click here and don’t forget to hit the follow button while you’re over there, because she’s amazing!
Let me know if you’ve tried these, and if you’d be interested in doing something like this with me, feel free to contact me via the e-mail address in my bio page!
