My Top 14 beauty favourites of 2014

Hello beautiful people!
As I was going through my news feed, I noticed a lot of other bloggers writing this post, and thought I’d jump on the bandwagon and write my own top 14 beauty products of 2014!
I kept it strictly make-up, because my skin and hair care stayed pretty much the same through 2014.

These are in no particular order, and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while they probably won’t be a surprise to you!

One: The Urban Decay Naked 3 palette
This was probably one of my most reached for palettes in 2014. It was such an incredible addition to the naked range with all the gorgeous rose shades.

Two: Estee Lauder double wear foundation
If you’re looking for a stay-in-place full coverage foundation this baby is a good one to pick up. I wore this quite a lot last year, and I will definitely be re-purchasing it! My only quam with it, is that you pretty much need to wash your face twice to get it off completely, but the coverage and pay off is well worth it!

Three: NARS radiant creamy concealer
This concealer has officially made it into the holy-grail category. I could not live without this in my collection, it is the best concealer I’ve ever used – I use this under my eyes and on blemishes. It covers without creasing and stays in place, a tube also lasts me quite a while.

Four: The Urban Decay naked lip glosses
These are so hydrating and only slightly sticky. I was surprised at how long these lasted on my lips; they add a slight wash of colour over the lips and smell slightly minty. I was constantly reaching for these last year, and have one in my purse and one in my vanity.

Five: The Tanya Burr lip glosses
As you guys know she’s my favourite YouTuber, so when I saw that her glosses ship to Canada I jumped at the chance to order a couple. Again they are super hydrating with good pigmentation and they smell like strawberries and cream!

Six: Anastasia dip brow
This is a recent addition, but it has literally transformed my eye brows.  You need to be relatively light handed when applying this, but once you get the hang of it you’ll never want to use anything else. It doesn’t smudge or wipe off, it keeps your brow hairs in place, and it allows you to shape your brows and fill in sparse areas easily.

Seven: Hourglass ambient blushes
These babies are awesome, the leave the most gorgeous and natural glow to your cheeks. They have a shade to suit every skin tone, they blend out so well and the pigmentation is incredible.

Eight: Too faced Chocolate bar & and semi-sweet chocolate bar palettes
Obviously the semi-sweet palette is a relatively new purchase but, it deserves a spot alongside its partner in crime. Both of these palettes are beautiful additions to anyone’s collections, the shadows are so pigmented and buttery, the blend out like magic and smell delicious.

Nine: Flower beauty foundation
I’ve had a bit of a love hate relationship with this the past few weeks. If my skin is looking really clear this buffs on beautifully, but if I have blemishes or dry spots, it has a tendency to cling to the dry skin. But as I said when my skin was in good condition I was reaching for it a lot, so it still has a place in to my top 14.

Ten: Too faced better than sex mascara
This is one of my best mascara’s I’ve ever used. It separates my lashes beautifully while adding incredible volume, the only thing is that it flakes after a few hours of wear, but worth it for the effect it gives, and I really don’t mind having to wipe away a few flakes when I have the sexiest eye lashes around!

Eleven: Kat von D tattoo liner
Again this is definitely a holy-grail product for me. I actually won’t use any other liner, because my wings just don’t come out as well. Honestly, the brush is what makes this product. It’s the only pen liner I know of that doesn’t have a foam tip applicator; it actually has individual brush hairs which allows for a perfect line every time. I recommend this to every single person I know, it’s so easy to use and the formulation is the best.

Twelve: Ardell individual medium length lashes
I only recently got into using falsies, but I find these so easy to apply. I’ve been wearing a few of them for a nice every day look, and building up lots for a night out. I can see why people get addicted to wearing lashes every day, when I go a few days wearing these and then go without, I feel like I have no eye lashes! These are also incredibly cheap; it’s around $5 for a pack which lasts me a couple of months since I re-use the lashes.

Thirteen: L’Oreal  collection privee lipstick in Julianne’s nude
This lipstick has definitely been in my purse since I bought it, it’s the perfect every day, my lips but better colour. It adds a little extra something without too much pigment, and I don’t need a mirror or a lip liner with this product. It smells like roses and vanilla which is lovely, and it has such a creamy and smooth formula without bleeding too much.

Fourteen: Bite cashmere lip cream
This formulation is so good! It stays in place beautifully, and it’s matte without being too drying. I do find if I wear it a couple of days in a row my lips can get a bit chapped, but it’s nothing a little balm can’t remedy. I love the shade that I have for winter but, I definitely want to pick up some brighter colours for spring and summer.

Those are my top 14 beauty products of 2014! I can’t wait to see what new launches 2015 has to offer! Let me know in the comments what some of your beauty favourites were last year!
Until next time,

Ring Styling with!

Hello beautiful people!
It’s a habit of most people to plan or buy an outfit and then accessorize, but why can’t we do the opposite? Buy a fantastic accessory and plan an outfit around it. Whether you’re heading out for a party or heading to the grocery store – a gorgeous ring can add class and excitement to any outfit!

I’ve chosen rings from Invaluable, the world’s largest premier marketplace, to show you guys how I would style outfits based on rings from their site!
Invaluable has over 10,000 rings for their bidders to choose from for incredible prices. Not to mention all the other items they have from watches, to clothing to furniture!

I chose to style two outfits, one for everyday casual and one for evening, to show that rings can be the biggest impact of an outfit. After all, our hands are what we use to eat, talk, and drink – they are a focal point and we should show them off with amazing accessories!

First casual:
I myself am super partial to vintage jewelry, so when I saw this gorgeous sapphire flower ring I couldn’t resist. I think this is a perfect ring to wear every day and add a little something to your outfit.
I would pair this with black tights, ankle boots, a slouchy sweater, a small purse and a dark blue scarf to compliment the ring. People will not be able to stop looking at your hand while wearing a ring like this, and the outfit emphasized the unique style and colour.
Tights: Aritzia
Sweater: Urban Outfitters
Booties: Steve Madden
Scarf: Anthropologie
Bag: Aldo
Ring: Invaluable (Link above)

The ring I chose for my evening outfit definitely makes a statement. This ring is opal and mother of pearl in quite a large setting, which makes it the star of the show! I would keep my outfit relatively simple, pair this baby with a little black dress, a black purse and some nude heels to compliment the colours in the ring and let it dazzle from my hand!
Dress: Forever 21
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Purse: Tory Burch
Ring: Invaluable (Link above)

There you have it! Obviously everyone has different tastes and styles but that’s that great thing about Invaluable, they have something for everyone!

Until next time my loves,

Too Faced La Belle Carousel Review and Swatches!

Hello beautiful people and Happy New Year!
Hopefully you all had a safe and fun new year’s eve! I went to my sister Jen’s place for a small get together, where we ended up in an intense game of charades playing girls versus boys. After midnight Carmen and I headed to one of his friend’s houses and had a nice time chatting and catching up with some of his buddies.
2014 was an amazing year, but I’m super excited for what 2015 has to offer and all the goals I’m hoping to achieve!

For Christmas, Carmen got me the Too Faced La Belle Carousel (which I had been eyeing for ages), so I thought I’d review & swatch it for you guys!
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that I am a massive fan of Too Faced as a brand, especially for face and eye products – and let me tell you this gift set did not disappoint in the quality department! Not to mention it has adorable packaging.

I love that it comes apart into 6 mini palettes, making them super easy to travel with or throw into your hand bag.

In this set you get 12 eye shadows, 2 bronzers, 2 blushes and a deluxe sample of the better than sex mascara – which you guys know I love!

The eye shadow palettes are beautiful – you get a couple more neutral options and then this gorgeous smoky silver and green option which I’m very excited to play with.
There’s a nice mix of matte, shimmer and glitter shades which makes this palette so easy to use for beginners or pro’s!

This is definitely the most neutral quad in the set, I love it because you can really achieve so many different looks with just these 4 shadows.
From left to right you have: Tuffed suede which is a matte cream colour, Angel hair which is a beautiful gold shimmer, Haute Chocolate which is a shimmery chocolate-brown colour, and Yule log which is a deep brown with flecks of gold glitter.

This quad is slightly more playful and girly with some pinks and purples. I love these for everyday, but again you could achieve so many different looks.
From left to right : Nutcracker which is a satin white, Nude beach which is a gorgeous gold-bronze with flecks of gold glitter,  Boxes & bows which is a shimmery coral, and Sugar plum fairy which is a deep purple with tiny flecks of silver glitter.

This quad is very sexy and smoky, I will definitely be wearing these on a night out soon!
From left to right: Frost which speaks for itself as a white with glitter, Tin solider is a gorgeous charcoal shimmer,  Christmas tree is a beautiful forest green shade with small flecks of green glitter, and Santa’s boots is a black shadow with blue glitter.
All of these shadows have gorgeous pigmentation and are incredibly buttery, so they blend out like magic.

Despite being part of the holiday set, this duo has intense summer colours. The bronzer is Sun Bunny Dark which is quite shimmery – I’ll definitely be wearing it in the warmer months to add some more colour to my face, but as for this time of year I think I’ll stick to my matte bronzer.
The blush is Luminous peach which looks really nice with my pale skin, I’ve worn this a couple of times already and really like the effect it gives!

This duo is right up my alley, the matte chocolate soleil bronzer is already a favourite of mine, and the blush Who’s Your Poppy? is a beautiful pink shade that I love wearing when I’m having a light make-up day.

I wont drone on about the mascara because I’ve already had it in a favourites post, but I am very excited to have a hand bag size to add to my collection!

All in all I’m so impressed with this set! Too Faced gets another huge thumbs up from Laura.
If you’ve never tried their stuff I would definitely suggest going to check it out, their products are cruelty free and incredibly easy to use no matter what you’re skill level is.
A huge thanks to my man for giving this to me – I am a very lucky lady indeed.

That’s it for today my loves!
Until next time,
