Beauty Blogger Of The Month Award

Hello beautiful people!
I have been nominated for the beauty blogger of the month award by the lovely Ms. Anna from PluAnna, if you don’t already follow her check out her blog because she has some amazing posts and shes just gorgeous!

To be considered for the award I have to answer 7 beauty related questions, and nominate 7 other bloggers who can find the rules to this award on Cecilia’s Corner she was kind enough to create this award for us beauty bloggers so check her blog out as well and show her some love!

7 questions:

1. Where does your makeup inspiration come from?
Hmm, this is a hard one, honestly since I can remember I’ve loved to play with make up so I sort of find my inspiration in all the products I get to use, but if I had to choose a person it would probably be Tanya Burr from YouTube, I’ve been watching her videos for a long time and just love her and the way she does her make up!

2. What are 3 of your makeup Holy Grail products you cannot live without?
one – Kat Von D tattoo liner in Trooper. Creates the perfect winged liner everytime!
two- Nars Sheer Glow foundation – even though I’m only tan enough for this in the summer it’s still the best foundation I’ve ever used
three – Mac Omega eye shadow. No matter what colour my hair is this is my perfect brow colour and gives me incredible brows every day!

3. What is your makeup signature look which you have on most of the time?
flawless complexion, natural eyes and pink cheeks – I love pink blushes

4. Let us know your favorite makeup brands?
top five are:
1. Urban Decay
2. Nars
3. Revlon
4. MAC
5. maybelline

5. Your ultimate makeup pet peeve?
when people don’t blend their eye shadow!

6. You’ve heard about all the hype on this makeup item, bought it, tried it and don’t understand what all the fuss is about…Name that product!
Stila stay all day liquid liner, I really didn’t like it!

7. Concealer OR foundation ONLY for the rest of your life. Choose one and tell us the reason!
Foundation for sure, because nothing gives me more confidence than a perfectly even complexion!

My seven nominees are:

1. BeckInABlog
2. Lush4Blush
4. A Casual Beauty
5. Jfkdays
6. Shortisthenewblack

A lot of these lovely ladies have been following me from the beginning and give me lots of feedback and great support which I do my very best to return! They all deserve this nomination for being such beautiful and talented people!
Again I just want to thank Anna for the nomination and say good luck to all my nominees, because without all my readers and all the other make up addicts in the bblogger community I would just be a girl with way too much make up!

Until next time my loves,

First impressions : Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Hello beautiful people! I have a quick first impressions post for you today. I was in Sephora a few days ago with my mom and one of the 100 point perks was the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara in the sample size, I’ve heard a lot of different things about this product but couldn’t justify spending 30$ on a mascara so I was super excited to give it a try using some of my Beauty Insider points!

I do really like this mascara, I find it separates my lashes and coats them really evenly in product, it’s also lengthening and volumizing and doesn’t clump very much when you build it up!
The only down side is that it does flake after a few hours and it prints on your upper brow bone as well, but that’s easily wiped away! so all in all I’m really impressed with this mascara and may pick up the full sized if I can get around the price!
Let me know if you guys have tried this and what you think of it! Is it worth the price?!

Stay tuned for my birthday make up look and outfit! Because tomorrow I turn 23!!
Don’t forget all the good buttons and I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
Until next time,
– Lo

Date night outfit and make-up look!

Hello beautiful people!
I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend and got up to some super fun things!
Right now in Toronto there’s a thing called summerlicious going on! Restaurants have three course lunches and dinners on for super cheap, it’s a good chance to try out new places and new foods. Carmen and I decided to make a date night out of it on Friday, so we picked a restaurant off the summerlicious list and had an awesome dinner at Milestones which I wouldn’t have normally picked, but I was really impressed!
Since Friday was a date night I figured I’d do a little post about my outfit and make up for the night!

It was pretty hot on Friday so I decided to go with a striped cotton dress that I picked up at Target a few weeks ago, I think it was around 30$, my necklace is from Urban Outfitter and it was about $20, my sandals are from DSW, I picked them up in Cleveland last summer and I think they were $50. My purse is vintage I got it at Black Market and it was $10. I really wanted to keep my outfit simple and fun, not to mention comfortable (and a little stretchy) since we ended up eating a TON of food.

I wanted my make-up look to be a little smoky but nothing too dramatic!
Foundation : Estee lauder double wear in 1C1 cool bone ($45), I just buffed this all over my skin
Concealer: NARS radiant creamy concealer in Chantilly ($32), I used this on any blemishes and under my eyes
Brows: I use Omega eye shadow ($19) from MAC and apply it with a MAC 266 brush ($22)
eye lid primer : Urban decay primer potion ($22)
eye shadow : Naked 2 palette ($62) I used bootycall all over the lid, and snakebite thought the crease and outer corner, and I used black out along the lash line to add some definition.
mascara: Maybelline pumped up collosal volume express ($7) , Clinique bottom lash mascara ($12)
Powder : RImmel stay matte ($5) I used this through my t-zone to get rid of some shine
bronzer & highlighter: Sleek contour kit ($10) I used the bronzer on the high pointed of my face to add a sun kissed look and added the highlighter to the tops of my cheek bones
blush: Marc Jacobs blush in Promiscuous ($36) I used this on the apples of my cheeks

That’s everything I wore and used on my date night with Carmen! Let me know in the comments what you got up to this weekend or some of your favourite products for a date! Don’t forget to hit all the good buttons and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Until next time,
