Hello beautiful people!
I hope February was a wonderful month for all of you and I hope March will be even better! March is looking like it’s going to be a great for me as I’ll be starting up a job as a Gardener which I’m very excited about!
So I’ve seen these posts quite a bit and thought they were such a good idea, so I’ve been collecting my empties over the past couple of months and I’ll let you know what I thought of them and if I’ll re-purchase.
First up is the Batiste dry shampoo, I got a three pack from winners in the travel sizes before my boyfriend Carmen and I left on vacation for the Bahamas. I took the Original formula with me and I absolutely love it! It really absorbs any grease in my hair and adds a good amount of volume which I find to be important in the dry shampoos I like as I have pretty thin hair. It doesn’t sit heavy either, it’s quite a light formulation which is great because it doesn’t weigh my hair down at all! The one thing I will say is that it does spray into your hair white, so if you have dark hair like I do, you do have to work it in quite well so you can’t see any white residue. The original formula smells quite nice also, light and fresh and I think the full size retails for about 7$ which is pretty cheap. I’m going to keep using the other two and see how the scents are, but I can definitely see myself purchasing the larger size of the original scent.
Next up is a bit of an oldie for me, it’s the smashbox photo finish primer in green which is supposed to help reduce redness. I bought this a couple of years ago (shh) and I never really got into using it daily, then I used it for my sister’s wedding and fell completely in love with it. It has sort of a liquid to powder feel, and did help to cancel out any redness I had in my skin, it is quite expensive around the 50$ mark but it is well worth it. Foundation smoothed onto my skin like silk and I used this up really quickly. They’ve re-packaged it and it comes in a squeeze tube now which is much more makeup bag/travel friendly but as far as I know they haven’t changed the actual product. I’m currently trying out a couple of other primers but I know I’ll be re-purchasing this one as soon.
sometimes I’m lazy and like to take my makeup off with a wipe (don’t tell) I also use them if I’m applying make up to multiple people and want to give my brushes a little clean or cleanse their face.
The wipes I’ve been absolutely loving are the Simple cleansing face wipes. These are great for people who have sensitive skin or eyes, these wipes are oil and alcohol free, they have vitamin b5 to help soften the skin and they’re perfume and dye free. They don’t dry greasy and your skin really does feel cleansed and make up free, these don’t sting your eyes either which is a bonus BUT it is sort of hard to take off your eye makeup with these so I’d say use a separate eye makeup remover especially if you use a waterproof mascara. They sell for around 10$ for 25 wipes which is a bit expensive but if you’re not using them every day than I think they’re worth the money.
The next product unfortunately was a bit of a let-down for me, it’s the Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er in blacquer. I wanted to love this eye liner so badly, and for the first I’d say 2 weeks I had it I did, I raved about it! And as it got more and more used to felt tip started to get little balls on it which I then had to pull off getting eye liner all over my finger(picture below). The tip also goes all soft and wonky making it so hard to apply, at first it created the most amazing liquid line and I was stoked, but as time went on I just became more and more frustrated with this product. The formulation is GORGEOUS, it has a leathery look as opposed to glossy or matte, it’s a pretty intense black and it also doesn’t smudge easily. I just really wish this liner had stayed fabulous, considering its 30$! I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it.
The Clinique bottom lash mascara, this was in my January favourite’s post I believe and I will absolutely be purchasing this little guy again! My bottom lashes always look separated and defined when I use this, and the formulation does not budge! It’s actually rather hard to get off in all honesty, but totally worth it cause if you lose the mascara off your bottom lashes this little tube will be your new best friend, and a decent deal at 12$. I would and do recommend this to everyone!
Last but absolutely not least is the Caudalie hand and nail cream. I got this in a gift set from my best friend Amber for my birthday last year and it has been in my hand bag since! This cream is fast absorbing and super hydrating, my hands always feel super soft after I use this, and it smells really nice, a little bit of citrus but not in an overpowering way. It’s not greasy and you don’t end up rubbing your hands together forever to get it to work its way in, and you don’t need a lot of it either which is a bonus because I believe this little tube retails for $12 so it’s a little pricey. I’m currently using a L’occitane hand cream in my purse but I will definitely be going back to this one once I run out of that one!
Those are all my empties, let me know if you guys have used any of these and what you thought or if you have any recommendations and don’t forget to hit the like button!
Until next time xoxo,
